Why is Titus demotion still an issue 100 years later.....Answered....
The game looks good and I will definitely get it.

However having scrutinized the gameplay trailer dropped last week, the issue of Titus demotion comes up...It is hinted that he story takes place 100 years after the SM1.

Seems water under the bridge after such a long time. Not a big deal, just a bit silly.

Titus has been a prisoner of an Inquisitor for 100 Years. He only rejoined the Ultramarines at the start of this games story

Edit: He spent some time with the Deathwatch too, don't know how much of the 100 Years was imprisoned and how much was at DW

Is this mentioned somewhere? Prisoner for 100 years?
because while he still most certainly is worthy of captain rank, if you don't have any open captain offices you can't really get back to captaining a company. like ultramarines weren't just gona go without second company captain for hundred years, they found replacement captain and weren't expecting titus to come back, so when he did best they could offer was lieutenant.

But the 4th Company went without Captain Ventris and Seargent Pasanius when they were exiled to fulfill their Oath of Death.

If I´m not wrong, the "The Chapters Due" states that the 4th was lead by Seargent Learchus until Ventris and Pasanius returned to the Chapter.

There was an issue of White Dwarf magazine which goes over what happened to him in that time frame. The excerpt has been posted around the internet

Somehow in that 100 years subsaharan's end up on ultramar for recruitment.
Forgot the Salamanders was a cool thing.
Realise the salamanders is less cooler because of this
Nice
Exactly the thing we needed to bury this IP once and for all

Salamanders aren't subsaharan. They are literally charcoal black with glowing red eyes.
Would Asian people existing outside of the White Scars make them less cool to you too?

Why is it that people who make comments like this tend to be on multiple year long whining sprees? Also not knowing enough about salamanders, but trying to use them as an example is really stereotypical tourist behavior.

Your point is that you are a tourist who knows only the most surface level concepts of the setting and have been whining for years?
