yes that is true but hey we know the Price for the Game
Wait for reviews, ask friends to share their gameplay and keep an eye on the forums.
Why the rush to spend money with zero return for now?
Pros: You get to blindly spend money with no assurance or guarantee that the game will actually be good or even completely functional upon release.
Cons: If the game is bad and you miss your refund window, you're just stuck with it because you didn't wait around for reviews to see if the title is worth purchasing.
There are no "Pros" to pre-ordering in 2024. Unless it's to secure a copy of physical media of some kind, it's pointless. They're not gonna sell out of digital copies of anything.
There is a event coming up on the 20th or 21st, would def watch that before even considering.
I think that event is going to determine if I preorder or not, as I've been tossin it around my head on why I should or shouldn't do it, myself
That said, I never preorder. It's better to be patient and wait for early reviews, updates, or even discount.
I might be wrong but pretty sure preordering in the earlier days also gave you a fully working game. It's just nowadays the scope of games is to big and instead filled with passion it is filled with money givers who wants their share therefore rushing release.
These days, except for a very small number of exceptions, the game doesn't unlock til the release date so pre-orders start playing at the same time as day 1 buyers.
well I'd say preorder is more of a preload (at least for people with piss poor internet) that's my reasoning of preordering. tbh
why would you pre-order anything... you think that games on steam can be sold out or something?
I think it also can boil down to "Can I afford this currently, and do I know that I'll buy this in the future"
In which case you have to decide if it's worth the launch risk to get extra goodies you'd miss out on. I'm leaning towards a preorder myself, and I'll just wait for the gameplay on the 20th to make my choice
Where I'm at.
I am no expert, but I do recall a poor writer was heavily involved with this game's narrative. For reference, look at Gotham Knights' story, and you'll see the quality I'm referring too. She was a lead writer for that. She also has ties to SBI, which are known for drastically harming games during development and release. The first space marine game was nothing super special either, but it was still enjoyable and memorable in the classic warhammer style and story. It should also be noted that GW is currently employing poor writers to write their novels too. Which would support the theory that they care less about narratives and an agenda in some form or another.
All in all, don't preorder the game. Wait for it to come out, and see if it has chops. If you just have to have that space marine experience, go play the first one again and relive the fun that game has proven it can give.
