As a general rule of thumb it always seems best to suspect the anti-woke people might be overreacting, but to outright ignore the pro-woke people because they are literally always consciously lying and subverting the narrative.
If the woke man-hating writer managed to put their stamp on the game it hasn't come through in the promotional material, yet. At the moment I'm more wary of it getting polluted by the same "live service" paywall crap that ruined Diablo 4.
This should tell you everything you need to know, and if they think they can get away with it, they need to remember what happened to Bud Light, how one person can destroy an entire brand that has lasted for decades because they can't keep their woke political ideologies to themselves.
If you think Black Rock can't throw their weight around you need to read again. They can own 0% of your company and still control you because they're the lending firm that gives you loans to complete your products. And if you don't like their politics then it would be a shame if something were to happen to your credit score and you wouldn't get those loans. Larry Fink said it best "At Black Rock we force behaviors"
P.S. Black Rock owns TRILLIONS in assets. They're the Tencent of the West.
They can drink cow p*ss if they want, Bud Light still lost BILLIONS of dollars, that brand died, and the smart ones moved on to other brands not owned by them. Same thing is happening to Disney because not many people like to be told what politics they need to follow in every product they buy.
But they didn't. The parent company was immediately outed on Twitter and it registered serious losses. Ofc, the most damaged brand was Bud Light but no, def people DID NOT switch to other product of the same company.
edit: Also, see other companies like Netflix, Amazon, Disney. All had to more or less admit pretty serious losses after ignoring what their fanbases wanted to pander a few actiwriters.
Another reminder. It is of course common knowledge at this point that the Bud Light fiasco was a significant net loss for Anheuser-Busch to the tune of over a billion dollars, and the narrative that they "made it back" from the boycotters is one of those subversive lies I'm talking about. In reality, Anheuser-Busch had a good year globally and it was nothing to do with the boycotting Americans "switching" to their other beers, but rather because they own Stella Artois, Becks and many other globally popular beers. I used to drink Stella myself as a Brit, it's very popular over here. Their earnings statements literally pointed out the American market had held them back due to the boycott. It was an unequivocal loss of epic proportions and the fact the pro-woke will even try to spin that into a win shows how dishonest they are to their core.
But can someone please explain to me exactly WHAT is objectionable in this game? Astartes in dresses confirmed or something? Because unless I have more information to go on, if the game looks good after it comes out and the reviews start flowing, I really don't care what some former writer said. I'll probably play it.
Buy them or not, nobody (reasonable) is going to judge you for that.
Though I will say that if you're a cis white man it's a bit ironic to not do it over a tweet centered around the idea of cis white men getting easily offended and upset of all things. Not saying I think the tweet is great (I think it's pretty obnoxious), but it's certainly pretty funny to play into it.
It's clearly saying 'I think cis white men are cast in roles plenty and they'd get very upset if they weren't and they'd see how it feels to not be represented like I am in (insert oppressed group)'
Which again, definitely obnoxious! Pretty racist even! Definitely don't think it's a good thing to say! Would not want to befriend this person if they usually say things like this.
But not what you're claiming it says. And personally...I belong to the Pete Buttigeg school of Chick-fil-A
