The game has many official chapters so maybe there will be Lamenters, but even if there aren't you can customize them manually by choosing the color of your armor.

Lamenters not showing up is very on-brand for Lamenters.

Unfortunately with this being late in the timeline there's a good chance the Lamenters have been completely annihilated by now, unless anyone wants to correct me on that.

I hope they do show up anyways.

I think lamenters will be added as a popular chapter but prob as dlc. Same with stuff like the soul drinkers

Currently in the previews we see **FREE**
All main loyalist legions
Most traitor legions, but not EC, TS, or BL for some reason. I assume they will show up as free though in full build.
Deathwatch (they have the DW shoulder dont worry)
Blood Ravens (thank goodness they made these guys free)
Characodons
Black Templars

and there are a couple other chapters that are free I just forget. Also there seems to be no locked paint beyond normal progression.

The main flashy bits of gear seem to be 90 percent free as well, the last unlock is from winning 35 pvp/pve missions. Some armor was dlc only, but was pretty simple like a helmet with the Exorcist symbol on the forehead and that was it.

If you see it in a trailer, its probably included in the base game basically.

However some chapters are behind dlc. I saw stuff like the Exorcists or the Emperor's Scythes as dlc only. You could easily make their color palette custom just wont have the symbols.

If its like a deep rock galactic situation though, Id be really happy. Where its funded off the base entry of course, but future content can be supported with cosmetics. On one hand, having everything for 60 usd would be great, I think being able to look forward to more stuff content wise for free is worth it.

I don't think they are being malicious about it. I was a bit scared about them locking flashy bits behind paywall and limiting custom options. I expected them to just give us the main legions. But they even gave us some fan favorite chapters as well. And again, it seems you can pretty easily do your own colors to match any chapter. All you are missing is really just the symbols.

The season pass only really matters for the people who know 40k enough to be invested to such a degree. Any non 40k fan will not really be effected. Even I wasnt able to recognize every chapter there (specifically a free one, at first I thought Sons of Malice which got me really hyped they were even gonna do that, but its half white/black UM successors that i forgot name of).

(i havent seen checkboard option at all tho for pre heresy DA or lamenters sadly)

Maybe more free chapters will be added, but on the season pass it says there will be future content added so I assume some stuff like Lameneters and Crimson Fists will be added to that.

I don't think they've been wiped out fully last I remember there's about 300 of the guys left and some people think they got primaris but I haven't looked into it yet myself otherwise if they are fully wiped out dreadnought Chyron is about to get a whole lot more depressed
