Will I be able to play as an actual space marine?

I'm not a fan of Primaris and feel like the lore behind them is extremely forced. Might actually be a deal breaker if the gameplay isn't extraordinary.

Watch videos, you should be able to decide... If not wait. The whole aspect of Primaris marines vs first born is quite redundant from a gameplay point of view. That argument is better suited to the TT and has long since raged.

I don't know if that helps but consider this. Nowadays there isn't really a separation being made between Primaris and firstborn, they are just Space Marines.
Just like Terminators can fit both I don't see why a Firstborn can't wear Tacticus Armour as well as a Primaris can wear Aquila Armour. Marines have always varied in size individually so I imagine each Chapter has ways to tailor Armour to each Battle Brother.
Also the Imperium has seen so much Battle since the fall of Cadia I Imagine most Firstborn have died and those who didn't are now First Company, who have Personalised Armour anyway

Or maybe because of their extreme selection and training process plus their Emperor derived Genseed, they were already as good or better than Primaris.

I'd be shocked if they Primarisize Grey Knights honestly since they are so far removed from normal Space Marines in their creation and I doubt the Inquisition would let Cawl touch their Stuff with his heretical greasy little fingers.
They'll get an upscale at some point for sure but not more i think

Possible, since he tried to convince Guilliman to use even traitor plus 2nd and 11th Legions genseed stocks, which are stasislocked on Terra for further foundings.

And lets not forget Alpha Primus.

Anything will, its just a matter of time. First born will the the age of The Horus Hersey to throw money at. Much like the Old world, Im surprised people havent figured this out yet. In my case, Im waiting for the Dwarves to be released, to just buy and paint some of them(yes I guess Im part of the problem)

It will be a thing probably, when GW get around to revamping Chaos(for 40k)...

Stuck in primaris armour for the campaign unfortunately, GW had a perfect aesthetic for space marines for decades and they completely ruined it.
