Why is The Tyranid Blood red?
It is Lore accurate that Tyranid Blood is Green Like a Xenomorph from alien (also acidic too) So Why is it that these games always get the Lore wrong, Red Is Not the only colour of blood in Warhammer, 40K or otherwise and most of the time Any Warhammer game devs always get that wrong, Red is not the only Blood Colour. If anything having Tyranid Blood Red Is Lore Inaccurate Even in a fictional sense. What ever happened to warhammer games that actually Followed the Lore, The First Space Marine Game Didn't put the Orks Large Teeth in on the models and now we are getting Tyranids with Red Blood WTF, Why not atleast make it Lore Accurate and make the Blood Green?

The color depends on what they consume/from which biological material they made of, it may vary from fleet to fleet as well, but usually its based on their "ration".

Most of the latest books depicts it as red, 10th edition trailer shows it red as well.

For a while now its been made red. Although based on the writings in the old codex I always imagined it being green. brown or black. Ork blood is supposed to be black too but in the games its always been made red.

? lmao go read lore so

tyranid blood are different cause of their localisation.

If they kill human do transform their essence in new soldier = blood red.

Tyranid blood varies just like the types/quantities of organism and their carapace colouring from Hive Fleet to Hive Fleet.

It varies, so basically
Rule of cool reigns supreme (just like it always does 😎)

So it like when you smack a mosquito.

The books don't describe their blood color. Just ichor.

Because coloring the blood red makes it more visceral.

You're right, wrong wording.

I personally like to paint it red.

In Devastation of Baal their ichor described as black, in other books there are diffrent colours mentioned as well.

In the trailer (10th ed) it was red.

On some models it's purple/dark purple.

I actually agree, I would like more interesting blood. I think its a quick fix tbh. Bio-luminescent blood would be a killer look even if it was a muted color, and it was like a flickering interaction when it sprays. Once it touches the air nice bloom, and then dulls down so its not messing with your wonderful environmental art.

Might literally just be an engine consideration, that with blood being red it works with all blood types etc. performative decision for the engine.
