Yeah pretty sure I heard that too.
But for OP I don't think they realise how old the Warhammer franchise is or they're just memeing for jester farm or something lol
I’m afraid Raynor's Raiders are “fan art” of the Ultra Marines. ;)
Take a close look at Warhammer and Warhammer 40k and take a look at Warcraft and Starcraft. You can clearly see Blizzard took a lot of inspiration from the Warhammer universe.
Zerg inspired by Tyranids
Protoss Inspired by Eldar
Terran inspired by Space Marines
Starcraft lore is a drop of rain compared to Warhammer 40k lore.
From a visual perspective, the Protoss aren't all that similar to Eldar. The only unifying thing I suppose is being psionics/psykers and a dying race. But the rest yeah, look pretty similar to the respective factions
Starcraft was made to spite GW.
GW made Tyranids and Dawn of War to spite Blizzard.
At this point, Starcraft/WarCraft and Warhammer have diverged dramatically from each other that it's only surface level stuff that's "stolen." They both made their settings distinct.
I would say I wish Blizzard would do more with SC, but honestly they would probably just F it up at this point.
