never buy into this "advanced access" crap, especially since they closed that refund loophole now
If I have a Call of Duty somewhere in this library, I got it for free and never installed it. Not sure what the assumption is about.
You can make assumptions and judgement on anything based on advertising, literature, and clips. Ever watch a movie trailer or commercial and say to yourself... that doesn't look good. Weird. Not a megamind... just common sense.
Think you mistaken Facebook or any other social media outlet for steam.
So the gameplay feels juuust unique enough to me
Though if you have more experience and have seen this gameplay style in other games then I can get why you think it's repeated and tired. I think the game is going to manage to just, be a game. It won't excel in any spots or innovate. But it'll make people who are into this type fairly happy
Pretty spot on. It feels like Gears of War 2 with a 40 texture pack.
Eternal or the 2016 one?
Unpopular opinion I massively prefer he 2016 gameplay to eternal.
I found eternal gameplay tedious with always having to swap weapons and use the same strategy on every enemy that I quickly got bored.
Granted first space marine also had a must have weapons like the sniper rifle for late game but I still hope is good.
Mmmm, I only played the DOOM 2016 beta, and a snippet of Eternal. But gameplay feels more like 2016. Its not as close to it, and closer to Gears. But less people are attuned to Gears 2
In your opinion, what would make the game more compelling?
What do you mean "same old thing being remade over and over", this is only the second Space Marine game, and it took 13 years before we got another one!
You mean to tell me you've only got one single First Person Shooter game in your library?
One single Role Playing Game in your library?
Every game that is built on a genre will be similar to any other game built on the same genre, it's the natural way of the universe. Unless, you get the rare occasion where new ideas are created and actually work, but the vast majority of all media are simply different versions of the same structure. No matter if you're talking about games, movies, books, they all share core mechanics. It is the story and the settings, and how those things are used that creates something awesome.
Space Marine 2 is a third person action adventure shooter game, so of course it's going to be like Gears of War, Earth Defense Force, or even Ratchet & Clank. And if you break everything down to basic core mechanics of course it seems the same on the surface.
You play a character in third person view, killing enemies, upgrading gear, and progressing through a story? OMG it's just like Super Mario 64!
There's only one other game like Space Marine 2, and that's Space Marine 1. Hardly a "over and over and over again" situation. Your'e going to miss out on something fun because you're watching too many negative Nancy clickbaiting YouTubers.
I feel the same. I have never really understood the way most video games treat this IP. Its such a lore-heavy universe and yet those who only know it through video game only ever know that theres an emperor, the big danger is chaos and heresy, psykers exist, and there are huge dudes and huge guns and skulls everywhere.
The best 40k game for me is Owlcat’s Rogue Trader. Its the only one I felt like I was transported into that world.
I don’t know how this game is gonna be like, but nothing that has been shown has me excited for it.
Ps. Ignore the people that cannot accept opinions different than their own.
