On the other hand, I don't understand why feminists want at all costs to be represented equally in a universe, even fictional, in which war plays a central role... Because in reality, almost all human losses in war are men. And don't believe Hillary Clinton's other moron who says without trembling his lips that the first victims of the war are the women left behind at home. The indecency of this kind of statement...

But in the strict context of the game, why not, even if the lore was not constructed that way initially, it remains fictitious and therefore conducive to improvements. The Battle Sisters can be expanded upon into regular chapters and are not overly sexualized so the lore and design are already there.

Female Astartes will probably be a thing in the next 10 years (Games Workshop tends to change lore pretty slowly).

And depending who you ask it's either a welcome change or the most horrible thing to ever happen. If they happen, I hope they're not overly sexualized and are just armored-up, brain-eating, acid-spitting monsters that protect humanity. . . you know, like every other astartes. . . well, almost every other. . . I suppose some of the other astartes can't spit acid.

the people who oppose that are very weird. ive even seen youtubers whove made up stories about henry cavill quitting the warhammer series because quote ''amazon wanted to put a female marine in the series'' like yeah okay lmao

Because some people like myself who have been fans of the franchise actually care about consistency in the established lore. Lore that goes back decades. That says SMs can only be created from male youths.
Representation of strong females has never been neglected in 40K. We have Sisters of Battle, Sisters of Silence and females in every other fighting branch, be it Guard, Navy, Inquisition, you name it.

A small minority that in truth couldn't give two ♥♥♥♥♥ about the franchise feels female Marines are a must and corporations that push for ESG ratings and DEI are about to screw over an established and loyal fanbase, so don't expect us to stand by and let this go over without voicing our opinions.

Maybe SoB upgraded to a SM level would be fun. Limit how many are allowed in a SoB army and such. They would be enhanced women not SM, kind of a best of both?

It would change the hyper masculine brotherhood thematic. I like that thematic and think it is cool and don't want it changed. I also want sisters of battle to be uplifted and expanded on in a massive way, I want them to matter more, that will never happen if fem marines happen because GW will just forget they exist because they can just focus on sh*tting out endless marines for $$$.

Lastly it's a bit weird to me that people have an obsession with doing this kind of thing to male targeted stuff. I don't see the same thing with female targeted stuff. Apparently the boy scouts now accept girls, but the girls scouts don't accept boys? eh... Like, this stuff does have an effect, if Reacher hadn't been targeted so strongly at men as it was then it would never have captured the male audience as it did. I don't like this trend of universalising male targeted stuff while female targeted stuff is allowed to keep being female targeted. Stuff should be allowed to strongly target a demo.

First, I've been a fan of 40K for a loooooooong time now. I'm very familiar with the lore and business decisions Games Workshop had made that have lead to exclusively male space marines.

And second, yeah, I still think female Space Marines should get added into the lore. :/

Space Marines are the "poster-children" of the 40k franchise; it's kinda odd that it's a boys-only club.

With the advent of Primaris Space Marines there's a new way in which Space Marines are created. There's definitely an "opening" for female space marines to be added to the lore.

Now, don't get me wrong, female space marines should be just as burly and psycho-indoctrinated as the male space marines. Femme Fatale Space Marines would not work. XD

That's my 2¢. :P

Yeah, I've been a fan of the franchise for decades as well. And while I'm not bothered by the inclusion of female astartes, I certainly understand people's reason for concern -- particularly when you see what is happening to other popular franchises.

I suppose the current 40k offering for 'power-armored women' does leave a little bit to be desired. We have:

Sisters of Battle: Nuns with guns in tight, form-fitting armor.
Sisters of Silence: Elite Warriors, but DO NOT speak (I see why this could upset folks)
Inquisitors can wear power armor -- but they're still just regular humans.

There's no real 1-to-1 parity with the Astartes for female characters in the 40k universe.

Don't get me wrong, I like the 40k universe, so this has never really bothered me. But I am equally not bothered by giving the girls cool toys to play with as well. (Ie: female Custodes and Astartes)

I spend no time embarked in the anti-woke crusade (or any crusade for that matter..).
My post history should prove as much.

With that being said the day that happens (female SM) is the day i part ways with the franchise too.
Sisters of Battle exist.
Perfect example of forcing things egregiously enough to anger people that are NOT hunting or actively participating in the culture war.

Luckily this here game, that looks better and better to me by the minute.. won't be affected by that.
