Do you think we'll ever know what the hell Nemeroth mentioned in the first game? Cuz I don't think Titus' interactions with Chaos really aligns with the "Titus is a blank" theory, and the fact that you'll play as him in this game eliminates all possibilities of HERESY, so...

Thought i'd bring the conversation up cuz ten years ago, I could see it as a totally believable in-universe explanation on why executions heal your wounds.
