Very professional response from the Enigma devs (New DRM that it will be included on all Capcom Games)
Very professional response from the Enigma devs, the company that Capcom is using for the DRM they are patching into their old games.

Capcom is adding DRM Enigma Protector to their back catalog of games.
Prevents modding, cheat engine, and reduces performance by up to 10-15 fps with stutters...
We still tolerate Denuvo but now we need to support DRM Enigma Protector? No way.

Publishers love to punish legit buyers and make piracy more desirable for some reason..

Mods are an advantage in every way for gamers.
Mods are one of the reasons I dropped console gaming in favor of PC gaming. I can't remember the last time I played a game with no mods.

Modding even grows bigger and bigger every year. We have modders making the graphics for games like cyberpunk somehow even more realistic than what CDPR was able to do.
Dark Souls trilogy... Elden Ring, overhauls mods... Even bloodborne mod for Dark Souls 3...

Digital Game Stores needs to either:
- Maintain a backlog of versions of their listed games for users to download/downgrade unless explicitly stated for removal due to security reasons
- Put in regulations to their TOS to prevent publishers/developers from adding DRM back to titles that was ONCE removed.
- DRM must be removed after a certain period of time, let's put 5 years just for safety.

Enigma Protector isn't being added on GOG's version of Capcom's games, is it?

I miss when the choices in properties were "Always keep up to date", "Only update when I launch", and "Leave it tf alone until I ask for the update"
We're talking like pre-2010.
There *are* some obscure Steam console commands to get you a specific version of a game, but most of them work Steam in the .exe anyway. Was useful to get the non-Bethesda'd-non-inflated Doom, though.

Here's the reddit post where I found how if it ends up we have to try
https://www.reddit.com/r/Steam/comments/611h5e/guide_how_to_download_older_versions_of_a_game_on/

Maybe copy-paste it in a txt, we never know what will stay on the Internet

Neither surprised, nor see a way to stop it/change things in an actually positive way. Things like this are why I only ever spend 20$/month on steam cards/gaming stuff in general and then wait for sales and refund immediately if the purchase wasn't up to par (usually because it's devs outright lied about quality/features). It's too frustrating/exhausting to bother caring these days.

Just don't buy it... it's difficult for everyone to agree to stop buying from companies that put this rubbish in their games, unfortunately there are a lot of people who don't care and others who can't go without buying, bad luck for those who buy. If the consumer cannot organize themselves and not buy anything, they deserve that this type of attitude from developers will always be worse. And this is what has been happening over the years. But NPCs are always NPCs doing NPCs things.
If the innocent NPCs think that complaining and continuing to buy will do anything... The executives of these companies laugh in the face of the NPCs who are buying and complaining while filling their pockets with the money of the NPCs who buy and complain. ..
