Left stick suddenly not working as a mouse cursor on Steam Deck?

Was playing a few hours last night off my Steam Deck with a wireless 8bitdo controller, no problems whatsoever.

Tried again tonight and suddenly the left analogue stick no longer functions as a mouse. Still works in the levels themselves but doesn't function normally in menus.

Seems to be the same deal on the Deck itself. I can use the trackpads for mouse navigation but the left stick simply doesn't work suddenly.

Driving me a little insane since I've gotten used to this setup. Anyone else experiencing this?

Might not be related but one thing you need to know: This game has a bug that existed since the online days where if you click that "( i )" icon on the stage screen that usually shows what's the boss, etc, the controller stops responding as mouse until you start a stage and come back. This is "normal", happens with every controller.

Huh, interesting. Not sure I've noticed that icon let alone clicked on it but that's something I'll keep in mind! For the time being I've just mapped my right stick as the cursor... which isn't ideal but it's getting me by. Still have this issue and have no idea what caused it. Seems locked to the Steam Deck, whatever it is. Tried the game on my PC using a wired Dualshock 4 and the left stick worked just fine as the cursor. The mystery continues.
