Offline save data lost for seemingly no reason

I tried downloading discord onto my Steam Deck. For some reason the Steam Deck temporarily stopped reading my SD card which was where the game was stored. After I got it working again I found that all of my X Dive save data was gone.

No other game stored on my SD card has this issue. I tried the option on the title screen to sync it with stored save data or however that was worded but this did nothing.

It is supposed to be synced up with the Steam Cloud saves but I still have no saves anymore. Any ideas?

Can confirm I suddenly have no save data on the Steam Cloud even though it should have been synced the entire time. Even if the data was deleted on my Steam Deck for some reason that should have no impact on my Cloud Save Data as I also had it downloaded on my laptop and "nothing" has changed about my Laptop recently.

you should just be able to go into the game, download your save off the cloud and be fine. I don't know why its not automatic, but you can see the option to the right where your saves are when you start from the title screen. What would really suck is if you uploaded your blank data up to the cloud.

edit: took a screen shot for you, its the two icons to the right on this screen. even if you have no data, you can down load it with them, I've done it before when I was screwing around with my saves and erased everything:

Unfortunately, I already tried that. I even made certain to read the two options carefully before choosing. It did nothing. Furthermore, I checked the cloud save for the game via properties and it said I have zero bytes of data saved.

Unfortunately the game doesn't upload your save automatically to Steam Cloud (they probably implementend that feature at last moment). Hopefully you're able to alleviate your situation with some save editing - that seems to be something viable by now, though I can't help you much on that, since I myself din't try that.

I think maybe we could mention this issue on the game's survey, so they can hopefully improve the save/load feature

That explains the lack of Cloud save data. I had no idea it was a manual upload. Still have to wonder why the save data was lost in the first place. Oh well, thank you for the replies everyone.
