Sadly nope. The Player is not referring to you, the player, but to a young male which appears on both intro and ending. Essentially is like playing any other male protagonist game like God of War or the old Metal Gear games. Just you don't see much of the character you "control".

If you pay attention closely, you'll realize they refer to you as he/the player because you're not playing as your own person but rather as the dude who got sucked into his monitor at the opening cutscene (if you didn't just skip through it)

There is no pronoun change because you are a predetermined character in the story, so I am sorry to disappoint you but that is not and will not be possible outside of when modders make the tools to change text so things like that can actually be addressed/changed.

Which is better (and the original name), because "Mega Man" entirely misses the entire theme of Rock, Roll, Rush, Forte (Bass), Blues (Proto Man), etc.

Also, Legends having the main character named "Rock Volnutt" is just so much less dumb than "MegaMan Volnutt".

Though... Blues being red is also pretty dumb, even if it's technically referring to the music, rather than colors.

You don't see the player's face in the quick intro cinematic at all.

& it's such a very small portion, only further referenced in the terribly translated plot that isn't even all that great, so supremely easy to bypass/overlook, cos the plot/narrative is not the main draw here. Perhaps they MEANT to put an "s" there, or say they - but we're working with very flimsy translations on loose plotlines. C'mon.

For me, it's not even about my own identification - it's about being the Mega Man characters I love!

So really, with all sensitives, I advise that this approach to this gotya!-turned-offline Mega Man mobile game is not setting out to make any type of social commentary other than: Isn't Mega Man great?!

I wasn't expecting to be sucked into the screen as "twelve year old isekai guy that somehow has nostalgic memories from twenty-five years ago." That's more of an .EXE thing than an X thing. That just sort of rubs it in.

Fun fact, and this makes people facepalm:

The cheesy X5 boss names based off Guns N'Roses, that even the Colle. was sick of, was a result of simping. The, now ex-girlfriend lmao, of one of the localization members was a fan of said band.

To be fair, I always loved the Guns and Roses inspired names. I'm not sure, but Mattrex and Dark Dizzy sound way more interesting and fun to me than Burn Dinorex and Dark Necrobat (they are fine, but they don't sound as unique) lol
