Weapon recommendations?
I don't remember which weapons were good in the mobile version, just been using the ones I remember using a lot (Crimson Scythe and Biochemical Buster), but wanna use some different stuff, and wondering what's good before I start spending millions of Zeni or thousands of EM on different stuff.

Nightmare and Ancient Relic are good mid-game swords. Busters are weaker than most other weapons, but the game isn't hard. Early on Destruction Laser, Sniper Buster or Gravity pulse are very serviceable. Mid Mono and Ark Cracker are decent options.

Obviously all the end-game weapons are silly. (miracle saber and ultimate buster)

Just my take with respect to swords and busters.

So I should get Miracle Saber and Ultimate Buster when they're available? I'm pretty far in the game, so looking mainly for good late game stuff, not mid game stuff. If they're zenni purchasable, though, I guess it doesn't matter, I can get like 650k in under a minute on that xp stage, I guess.

Side note to this, from personal research and looking into it a lot, busters are weaker in general, but have the most synergy with cards and a lot of card effects/combinations with skills utilize busters quite well

this game is mainly for PvE so barrier aura (shield) and healing are your main concerns. My recommendation:
extraordinary motar: shield providing launcher.
purgatory machine gun: never miss8ng a shot and +atk are good.
gravitational pulse: if you fancy buster.
crimson scythe: healing passive at 5 star.
character: B ranked zero, S ranked X, Black Zero, these guys can carry you to the end if you invest in them. I was using cinnamon and with a sniper buster, she can fight even my power is half as recommended stage power

Also, if you really fear running out of ammo then Biochemical Blaster with the right hidden ability basically doesn't do that.

EDIT: Similarly, the Zerker sword for melee never completely runs out (I got it mostly because Star Force).

Once you are further in progression, Miracle saber (Zero's ultimate weapon if you go by looks), and Ultimate buster (X's ult weapon by looks), are safe, if not slightly broken end game alternatives. Mostly the buster. These are EM weapons but i feel the investment is worth, unless you like challenging yourself.

The upgraded buster gets you terrain ignoring homing bullets that are the size of most charge shots, plus a similar terrain ignoring laser every once and then. Cooldown is very minuscule. You also get a berserk shot that triggers sometimes and uses double ammo and does double damage. You basically fill your screen in bullets and kill enemies before they even show up.

The upgraded saber gives you also homing bullets (because why not), and so far I have not been able to use enough energy on it to force a cooldown...

So unless the character I'm trying specifically requires other weapon types to maximize, these two are the main kit I always use for all modes.

Just going to throw this out there, because I find it best to make your card builds around your weapons at times, for miracle blade because it gives like 3 kinds of status effects, works really well with these cards:

Sigma (4x 1st form) 5 star
The Nightmare virus 4 star
The threat from space 5 star

Batton is always a good card option for characters without any innate healing options.
