In my opinion yes, totally worth it. You are paying 1x for all the content that the online version has (removing only PvP; Events/Collab, Ranking, Gacha etc...).

how does it stack up to the rest of the x series?

If you're referring to gameplay, they're sticking with the classic. Classic Mega Man Action: Jump, run, fire your buster and swing your saber. All the action you'd expect from the Mega Man X series is here!

Now if you're wondering about the story, from what I've seen, it's a new story. An all-new original story with hundreds of stages to enjoy. Immerse yourself in a new Mega Man story that can only be experienced in Mega Man X DiVE. Blast and blast your way through hundreds of stages spanning multiple difficulty levels!

There's going to be a lot of people saying definitively yes or no, but my advice is to do some looking into it yourself and decide if it's a price you are comfortable with paying given whatever your financial situation is.

Keep in mind that this is not a mainline Mega Man X title, it's a non-canon spinoff with various crossover elements. There are over 100 characters to unlock and play as, all having access to the same equipment and basic playstyle but each having unique skill attacks that set them apart from each other.

This version of the game's benefits are that it's just an upfront price with everything being available to unlock through simple in-game progression (the mobile version's gacha elements were removed) and once you have the game installed it will always be playable without need of an internet connection.

The downsides are that some controversial multiplayer modes were removed, as well as several collab characters themed around Street Fighter, Monster Hunter, and Devil May Cry.

Another thing to keep in mind is that there are plans in the community to develop mods and a save editor for the game. In particular, fans are planning on modding the removed characters back into the game.

If you are still feeling unsure, you could purchase the game and try it out when it releases, and then if it's not really your thing you could simply just refund within the window of 2 hours of gameplay and/or 2 weeks of ownership.

I would have said 20 US dollars, whatever that translates into your currency. But $30 is what we get, so despite me liking this game, I'm on the fence about it.

As for the game itself, I think it's not pure Megaman due to the auto locking features and removing of the instant death on pits and spikes (you take damage instead). The story is about some kind of data corruption in the mega man games, and you as an outside user being allowed to use mega man characters to repair it. So it's not anything even closely related to the mainline stories, or any in world story at all, which is kind of a disappointment.

Man, i wish they would bring back collab events. Especially DMC. When i saw the collab trailer, i was happy with what i saw. I don't know if modders could pull off such a feat.

X DiVE is a unity game, and unity games tend to be rather heavily moddable. Since the task in question is a simple port job of bringing the existing characters from one version of the same game into another, I wouldn't be surprised if the mod was half finished already (The characters and their associated data are likely already ripped from the Online version, so modders would just need to properly insert them into the Offline version when it releases. That's an oversimplification of the process, but you get the idea).

Yes, only the special crossovers aren't in (without modding). Holiday themed characters and DiVE armor characters and etc. are still in.

Character memories are available for purchase using in-game currency in the shop with no in-app purchases using real money. Most characters are purchased with Zenny, but some special characters such as those originally distributed via the DiVE Festival will be purchased with Element Metals which will be special stage drops and rewarded for completing certain challenges. It's also possible that some characters will unlock automatically through story progression or by completing the holiday themed levels, though specific details about this haven't been revealed yet.

I don't know what the starter stuff is going to be, but I assume you'll start off the game with only the default X character with the default starter gear.

Well Now you are Talking 😃😃😆😆 this game will be interesting to play, from what I’ve seen on the trailer in the store page there are a lot characters to unlock lots of interesting stages but no gacha system and no in-app purchases using real money, some of the new features are very interesting I hope more info will be available soon because this game looks more interesting than the original one (no offence).

I was interested until I saw the price. I'm good. I'd pay more than this though if they remastered the legends games and added some QoL + PC controls though.

I'll get the game later when I feel like it in a few days no need to rush for me.
