Another returning player! Where to start?

Well, I was a launch subscriber back in 2008 and it was awesome...but had no end game at the time. I hear it has changed. Another turn off was that my chosen class, Berserker Barbarian (loved the CC and DPS) underperformed and Reaver Barbarian was the way to go.

Has that changed and the 2 hander Barb get balanced? If not I'm thinking of rerolling Herald, Necro, or Assassin. Any recommendations there?

Barb still does more dps in dual wield and has more survivability and ccs on two handed. There are sites like joharaoc that have a feat calculator so you can see what a build will produce without going into the game.

Try out a conqueror, it is like a barbarian soldier.

I have also recently came back and am struggling with which class to choose.

I have always wanted to play as a Dark Templar - but from what I have read for the past couple of days there is an AA feat that is required to make the DT viable and in all honesty there is little to no chance that I will ever subscribe to another MMO.

So I started looking at all of the other classes wondering which class would be viable for me without the use of AA. I myself am leaning towards a Conqueror - because with a feat change it can be a tank or dps and with only two character slots I need as much dual class viability that I can get.

Also on a side note, can I just say it sucks that I was a per-ordered of AoC and bought Rise of the Godslayer - and I only get 2 character slots? Mind you - I get a lot for free I know - but I do like variety in my class selection and two is a small number to give people. But yeah - with only two slots it's hard for me to dedicate myself to a specific class - over the past few days I actually played an hour or two of both the DT and the Demonologist and deleted them after because I didn't want to delete my level 20 Barbarian.

Though now I am thinking of doing a Conq and Bear shaman so that I can cover the 3 class roles with my two slots: Tank/DPS combo with the Conq, and Healer with the BS.

There is a way around this, you can have more than one account per email. So just make a new account with a new login same email, and BAM more character slots!

Hmmm I guess I never considered that due to assuming I would need multiple emails to do it.

However I will say this - I have always been under the impression that if I ever were to level up my Conq and Bear Shaman to level 80 - like fully leveled and then feel the need to have more characters - I would be more than willing to pay the $12 - 15 bucks to get another slot.

Since coming back I restarted levelling my Conq and it's going well so far so we'll see how it goes.
