Barbarian underpowered or just harder to play?

I chose barb class because I thought they'd be well-rounded and to honor the namesake of the game, Conan. Also because I began as Free2play and so was limited to certain choices. Since then I've found this class to be difficult to succeed with in pvp, it just seems like other melee classes have more raw power or defence while the ranged classes don't seem to have much disadvantage when I do end up reaching them ...since everyone has stuns and knock-downs. Any tips for a forever-casual Barbarian? Or did I just pick the wrong class?

no barbs are well powered and hav great survivability,you just hav to use rt feats. use zerker tree and stay in blood rage stance/the stack heal you.check the forums for som current builds.now if you really want to see HARD play a HOX

I've been doing that, and using the decap build. It just seems like I don't do enough damage for all the effort and most classes seem to melt through my HP pretty fast, especially casters. HOX kill me really fast as well, but at least they seem to take actual damage. Some classes don't even take the damage I deal or they just heal it while jumping arond me. HA! It's more funny than frustrating now, but it made me furious when I started 6 months ago. Not much has changed though, as far as my barb success goes.

could be a gear thing.depending on your pvp level. If its low youll never take down lvl 10s.

I dont play as a barb super often but when I do I try to be as cheap as possible. I go into hide mode and sneak up on an enemy, attack and use the froward movement action to try an proc a stun before I use my control skills.
