Nothing like the BIT.TRIP RUNNER
Looks nothing like the first game to me in terms of simplicity and a clean look in terms of graphics and therefore a no buy for me. Anyone else feel the same way?

No, not really. If you liked Runner 1, you're going to like this game. I just picked this up for VITA a couple days and haven't been able to put it down. If the value you derived from Runner 1 was purely based on graphics, maybe it's not for you. But seriously, if that was the case, what game were you playing, dude? Runner is all about the gameplay and it's better than ever.

Excuse me, Runner 1 was a great game I even have it on steam, but I also have Runner 2 and it basiclly murdered the fun outta Runner 1 with its new graphics. You sir are so wrong. Just play it. You will love it.

I feel like the graphical style changes dramatically, but it isn't a bad change. I think it works.

Both games are good. But Runner2 is awesome! I liked it better than the original. Much less frustrating than the original, but still as challenging as you want to make it, with optional checkpoints and dance moves! Music and graphics and gameplay and animation and voice work are all top notch! At these sale prices, it's a steal!

Loved runner 1. Loved runner 2 even more, both for it's graphical style and the optional checkpoints and side moves. Runner 2 for 2.50 is an absolute steal.

I think it changes dramatically and am disappointed by that as part of the appeal of the first game was art style for me.

I think the graphics are great! There are penty of other games with retro style art out there. IMO, you're missing out on a great title.

Runner 2 >>> Runner 1. No kidding.
God loves me! Dec 23, 2013 @ 8:55pm
I think this game is ugly as sin. Uglier than the already ugly first game. This one has the benefit of actually being enjoyable to play thanks to having checkpoints though.

My brother just bought me Runner 2 for Christmas and I love it!

During the sale, the game and DLC and Soundtrack is only 3.99! The music alone is worth that even if you never play the game. I payed $15 for this game on day one and am not disappointed.

You are right, I think all the Bit.Trip games needs the old graphics. The Runner 2 is nice, but, because the graphics I prefer the 1

Runner 2 is a spin off from the bit trip series anyways. It's not supposed to be connected to them. Hence the name Bit Trip Presents... Runner 2 instead of Bit Trip Runner 2.

To be honest I was a little put off at first...the new art direction did indeed seem a bit 'messy'. But hey, at £2 it was worth a try, and I've gotta say, I'm glad I did. The core gameplay is still there and they've added a few little tweaks that genuinely improve on the original.
