Liberal Bias?
I love political games but I hear this game has an incredible Liberal bias, AKA, Government solves everything. Is this true?

Yep. I'm liberal; but it takes an idiot not to see how biased it is.

It wouldn't be a very interresting game if your actions didn't have any effect.

Cutting regulations and taxes is doing something. Alot of strategy games have done this well.

This game is basically what would you do to ensure the prosperity of your nation. I am a liberal, and I still choose conservative options when they are needed to either raise profits or ensure the satisfaction of certain demographics.

I played the Demo and the only way I could get anything done was by heavily raising Taxes. All the loading screen quotes were from Obama, Keynes, Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton.
When I played the demo, played as a conservative (I'm a conservative) and was having fun. Not sure how the full game is - well, guess I'm going to find out! :)

"Cutting regulations and taxes is doing something. Alot of strategy games have done this well." - Can you mention one or two games that do this effectively?

"I love political games but I hear this game has an incredible Liberal bias, AKA, Government solves everything. Is this true?"
- The DEMO scenario has 70% to 30% Socialist to Conservative Society Makeup. In the DEMO scenario there is a Socialist Bias. Other Scenarios in the full version have CONSERVATIVE BIAS.. so why not buy the game and see for yourself?

"I played the Demo and the only way I could get anything done was by heavily raising Taxes. All the loading screen quotes were from Obama, Keynes, Newt Gingrich and Bill Clinton."
- Since when is Newt Gingrich a Liberal? .. and there are many more quotes in game.

"It wouldn't be a very interresting game if your actions didn't have any effect."
- The entire game model is based on making polictical decisions. If you consider raising OR lowering any subsidy/tax/benefit/expense fun .. then this game does exactly what it represents which is participating in a democracy....

I find the premise of this discussion thread to be inflammatory.
Fate of the World and Democracy 2 are the best educational games available on steam to date.
Both are great games. Enjoy :)

Depends on your constituants, in the united states scenario, capitalists, conservatives and adn patriots make up most of the population, lots of spending on police and anti-crime to keep conservatives happy. Lower busness taxes and industry regulations to keep capitalists happy. big military to keep the patriots happy. You need to raise hospital spending at the beginning of the game to reduce a disease breakout but after that you can generally reduce all social spending. You will always have some problem with polution but other than that its a winning strategy. If you want to implement social spending polices you have to pick a country with a lot of socialists and liberals.

I plated the USA in a very Liberal way and was crushed in the next election. It felt to me as if it had a strong conservative bias.

So taken into account what conservative players are saying, it may be less biased than we think, maybe?

If you squint enough, Ranger, the entire universe has a liberal bias
Pixy Misa Dec 31, 2012 @ 5:24am
I tried squinting that hard and mey eyes fell out. :(

Good to hear that the game has a liberal bias IF your voting public is biased that way. I'll give the game a try.

Liberals! Bah!
MG-HOP Dec 31, 2012 @ 10:20pm
Yes it does, but you can change if people from socialists to patriots among other things. The main bias is with healthcare the only way I have found to help overcrowding and diseases is to increase healthcare.
