Nethergate: Resurrection

spiderweb software games general complaint
I do enjoy these games but I've got one complaint. The character's move too damn fast. Am I weird for fealing this way? The spiderweb game's look nice and polished compared to their cousins of yester year but they disagree with me everytime that I click a tile and my character darts across the screen like a speeding bullet. IMO the games would feal so much more realistic and more polished if the character's would just move at a slower (more realistic?) speed. Ofc I haven't tried this one yet but I've tried black fortress and escape from the pit so I'm assuming they all have the faster than light character movement speeds.

The only ones I've played so far are the geneforge games and movement in them was not super fast movement speeds. Sometimes I found myself wishing they would speed up

...Come to think of it their speed did increase with combat mode was active but it still wasn't that bad.

I'm pretty sure you can set the speed of the characters in options. But a big part of this may be a lack of detailed animation. With a small, low budget studio that's just going to happen due to their constraints. And frankly if I have to lose animation frames to keep things like story, creative character advancement, fun gameplay...I'll do it in a heartbeat.
They are on high speed because the cpu now is to damn fast. In the old dayz we had the 486 running on Windows 95. LOL
I'm far too impatient to want to slow them down. All that would do is artificially inflate the game's length.
This is one of their original games, so it was built for a considerably older computer than what most people have now. But yeah, pretty sure you can turn the speed up or down as you want, at least in some of the games.

The pace seems fit for gaelic warriors like themselves.
Options..you can turn it right down.
