What's the benefit of killing AI units in WW3?
I've completed WW3 and only noticed a lethality stat counting your Battalion's kills, of course im specifying a distinction here between defeating and killing units

I've just been doing it assuming they will lose reserves, so besides the lethality stat, what's the benefit of killing enemy units?

I can see the benefit in killing experienced enemy units in the now-defunct theater of war, but what's the point of it with the AI?

It's been forever since I played this game so I might be wrong about this, but I believe killing the unit means it will be replaced with a brand new unit that doesn't have experience when you face that same AI general again.

Considering how many enemy commanders there are... that probably wont be very useful

You're right, it's not very useful. I've faced the same commander more than once only a handful of times, so I don't even bother killing units.

Heres the thing...when accepting a mission, then pressing escape, then accepting the mission again,a new commander appears each time...therefore you can keep doing this method until you land on the AI commander you want to face,so infact if you had a fight previously with a commander from say 44th assault battalion spetsnaz, and killed his units, you could force another fight with him next time if russia was the enemy in next map.

This is also useful even if you dont kill units, you could fight an airborne commander,or any type that you like.It doesnt mean that commander will deploy more airborne units,it just means the bonuses for certain units can be avoided.

Learned this years ago on Xbox version
