Voice Calibration Sucks

My mic works. It does. But no matter what I do whether it be editing Voice Receive volume, moving mic farther or closer, or speaking louder or quieter, it never accepts my voice. When it asks me to say my name or a few words, it generally accepts me saying it's optimal - or close to - and moves me to the first command. However, it never lets me finish.

"Unit - 1 - Camera" but where? Even when I say it and hear the woman say it's incorrect a dozen times I can't get it to work. What do I do?

Should I just refund? I'm a little disappointed and only got EndWar because of this feature.

Just play with out VC, all it does is loosen the micro managing abit.

It doesn't make much of a difference. It must be your Mic quality or you have to much of an accent. I had the same problem and then I started talking more formal with a more Americanish "Unit 1.. Move to.. Alpha."

Sorry for the necro, but this happened to me, too. Have you heard the PA guy in Half Life 1? That. Maybe you should try like the ones stated above, but more segmentated: "Unit. One. Attack. Hostile. One." Accents tend to be a big bummer at times, too, but it's ok as long as you get the vowels right (consonants don't seem much of a deal).

Once you get the hang of robot-speak, try going natural little by little. You'll have to experiment though. Given time you'll realize some words are actually optional or interchangeable. (Have you tried "engage" instead of "attack"? Things like that.)

It happened to me also. However, I found out that if you release space too early, it interrupts the voice processing. You have to keep pressing until what you said appears on the screen.
