Stand and Shoot Legs will need different soda types to feel worth it to me
With Sodaman as is, I feel that the "up to 50%" damage buff legs will only work once you implement sodas and some other ways of controlling enemies and dodging projectiles. There's so many of them swarming at once, and DPS can only get so high, that when I stand and deliver, it feels like I'm delivering myself to death by not taking advantage of the game's key defensive measure:

Dodge and get the hell out of the way.

This feels further exacerbated by the current lack of healing, how precious health is, and the lack of burst healing and the slowness of regeneration effects. Unless there's a cybernetic synergy I'm missing, it feels that these legs will only become useful and viable once there are summons that attract enemy attention from Sodaman (so you can stand for several seconds, line up enemies, and shoot them easily with something like the sniper's high burst damage that will benefit greatly from it).

You could also consider adding an extra effect, where after standing for a second or two, it will create a projectile shield that will block a single attack, so there's a bit of an insurance policy when you try to stop and attack. That, or you could consider giving a soda a different orbiting type, where instead of seeking enemies, it will block a ranged attack each, and recharge via kills or status effects. (Yellow Soda shield can stay as general purpose protection with no trigger mechanism.)

It runs into the same problem I've seen in a different roguelike game, TH3-M15 Guild, where Pharaoh buffs her summons after standing still. The issue is, there are a lot of enemies that also swarm, some of them have AOE effects that need to be walked out of, and her summons run off as a single horde, without anyone of them sticking by her side to act as bullet sponges and distractions.

It could be interesting to encourage playstyles that go against the mechanics you encourage, but they need to feel viable rather than a deadly self-imposed challenge.

You're absolutely right about that. The stand-still build doesn't seem very viable at the moment. We'll be adding new cards and sodas to support this playstyle. Your suggestion about the shield also makes a lot of sense we'll definitely consider it! :)
