this is basically a survival game with a "grow your biome" mechanic
I was expecting something more about recreating eco-systems and growing a population. Instead it's more like a 3rd person survival game with zelda botw inspirations and an ecological theme. Not a bad thing, just that I wasn't expecting the bulk of playtime being gathering resources and crafting, but more of design your ecosystem and maybe manage a population and settlements. Like the buildings you build are essentially just big crafting bench and not actual "job" you're creating since you're doing the job yourself. I hoped that building a farming village would provide passive farm resources, mining village = passive mining resources or something.

I still loved it and played it all up until tier 3 of midhaven (post credits), simply not what I expected.

This is a fair assessment of the game in 10.3

I do know that many of the Devs feel passionately about the Ecosystems as well and we have some additions to Ecosystems coming in Update11 (which will be smaller than Update10.) That said, there are designs to make Ecosystems themselves much more dynamic than they are currently.

The game was great and I'm looking forward to it's development and even if growing your biomes were pretty barebones, I still enjoyed seeing that lush expands and the main tree get bigger after each level, seeing the new fauna was also a great plus. Also, I gotta give props to those who designed the shrine's architecture, I would've rebuilt them all even if they had no in-game purposes simply by how pretty they were and different from one another.

2 things I see that could make the game better is a better sense of community with your people, you're giving them infrastructure, it'd be nice if they did something with it helps you outside of simply being a new workshop, basically you give to the community and it gives back as you build their new homes.

And something a bit more in-depth meaningful with the biomes and ecosystems, maybe if 2 biomes are close enough, the overlap creates a new biome? So as you plant more and more emperor seeds you start thinking of combinations you haven't tried yet? or something more in depth regarding the ways you take care of it? I know there was this game from Ubisoft from years ago, a small project called 'from dust' where you played a benevolent god guiding your tribes through challenge levels by interacting with the elements (move sand to create water barrier or bridge, use water to propagate flora or extinguish fire, move lava to make rock walls, etc...) and I don't think it'd be doable here as a free flow mechanic, but maybe being able to build a damn (like the other renovation building) which redirects water allowing plants to grow in a desert and things like that.

You can somewhat cross plant in biomes, it's just not super clear you can plant Grand Trees from other ecosystems in different ecosystems to get an alternative Grand Tree and a micro biome of it's type around it!

Deepening both town and ecosystem relationships is a shared goal with the team as well.

Thank you for the feedback and letting us know we're (probably) on the right track!
