Xbox360 controller settings

Is there any way to alter the default XBox360 controller options, I want to swap the sticks over and put the throttle/rudder stick on the left and the aileron, elevator stick on the right which is more natural. Most people who fly RC planes use this configuration and also in most fighter aircraft the throttle is always in the left. Th developers should have thought this through a bit more in my opinion.

I think this will help or at least point you in the right direction.
I'm a strict pc guy and look down on consoles, however I have had more success with playstation controllers then xbox. Just a suggestion.

Thanks I'll take a look. I'm also a PC guy and like my flight sims but I do like the XBox controller. For a not too serious flight sim such as this one the Xbox controller is a nice addition. I fly RC planes and the two sticks on the controller are a very similar arrangement. I'm worried that if I play with the controls swapped as set in the game, it might start to screw up subconciously my RC control. These days when I fly RC planes I don't have to think about the transmitter controls.

Decided to give xpadder a go. Joytokey is another. The programmers were lazy not to include any configuration options for the controller. I've yyet to try the game so can't say how good it will be.

how do you even get the controller to work, the game wont recognise it and i cant see controller settings in the options

I'm using a wired Xbox 360 controller. In Windows you need to look in the Control panel-->Devices. If thw XBox 360 driver has been installed there should be a controller icon there which you use to check everything is working. For a wireless controller you need the a USB wireless adapter to pick up the signal which M$ suppliers. I need to look at this again, I lost interest.
