You don't mean 'Hostile Skies' by any chance? One of three miniclips which I have come across in my time which is set in World War 1. It's the one with 'Billy Coppins' and 'Charlie Cooper' in it. Good luck with your ongoing search if this isn't the game you mean :o)

i think it was just DogFight

There was 'Dogfight' but there was also a Miniclip game which was highly addictive [and silly!] called 'Hostile Skies' which has also been taken off. Shame as I was having a right laugh being 'Billy Coppins' and the like. I think the games were similar also 'Hostile Skies' was set during WW1.
