How do I get the Steam cape?

Ok so I just installed the game, made my account through steam.. but the cape is not in my inventory. I've tried to /claim thing but still, nothing happens... Advice?

Ok dispite the complete nonsense people are posting here which they consider advice on how to get the cape. They are right in what they are saying.

Here is how you link your account
1. Load AoC through steam
2. Click register on the login screen.
3. Create an account through step 2.
4. Log into that account (Via the website) once it's created.
5. You will be taken to a page that will ask you to link your account with steam, once you have done that, the cape will be yours.
6. Enter the game and type /claim.

Done.

Note: If you have created an account already without my above instructions, you will not get the cape, ever.

Is there any damn way to link it to an old account? Mine exists since LAUNCH. They could at least give us that possibilty because I don't want to lose all the things I got from being with a veteran account. Damn Funcom and Steam for that cheap move.

well, i contacted support via email and explained that despite registering through steam and playing through steam the cape still didnt show up in my /claim box. I also explained that i had tried to link my AoC account with my steam account but that i had failed to find any option on the account page to do so. The customer service dude who responded was super helpful, and fixed it all for me in less than 24 hours :)Soooo in short,my advice to you would be that if you're having issues to send an email to customer support. (^^.)

Yea I send a ticket to the Support, I hope they can link my account to Steam, I don't want to lose my veteran privileges just for a cape :(

Same here, old account and looking for linking with my Steam-ID. I´d send my e-mail to the support 3 weeks ago or something like that and still no answer...
