Can you turn off blood/gore?

I am 12 years old, and me and my mother is not very keen on blood/gore, is there a way to turn off the blood and/or gore if there is any?

Also, can i turn down the graphics if they are too high and laggy for my computer?

I don't think there is, besides it's rated for 18 years old+
It's good that you've tried other games than the typical MMO's, but tbh you should try not to play games like this becasue the majority of the playerbase dislikes younger/immature players, so you might have a problem with that aswell.
But the only tip i can give you for now would be to play as a Necro/Demo or a ToS/PoM because they don't use melee that mush.

I will log in now and double check the gore/blood options for you but im sure you can turn it off.

Also the graphics can be adjusted in game through the video options to suit most computers, Age Of Conan is one of the older MMO's out there so will run on older machines as well as new;)

Just to let you know it is a mature classical fantasy game, it isnt like Warcraft or Guild Wars there are no flying goats or dwarves with guns:) Your main character will always be human in a world filled with 'traditional' fantasy creatures, trolls, giants, spiders etc...

It requires a good computer to have minimal lagg, even if you switch to low settings it won't help that mush with the fps. You can find the settings in the luancher menu/ingame, press ESC then find video setting, there you can reduce the graphics alot, but whatever you do, don't drag high quallity view distance to 0.

Right

There is a Remove Mature content option in the interface options ESC>Interface options its right at the top.
It turns off blood on the screen, fatalities etc.
However even when i selected it, there was still blood from combat just now, not much by Conans standards but still there..lol
Also remember this game does feature nudity to some degree so maybe discuss it with your elders first an then decide.

I was looking at downloading this for my two boys and me. One is nearly 16 and the other coming up for 9 (but going on 16!!).

The older one not a problem but was wondering just how 'mature' this game is. Not too bothered about the blood (as long as fantasy stuff i.e mortal combatish) and the odd womens boob, but more concerned about any swearing? Ok with mild cussing as long as not all the time where the kids end up saying it from habit after hearing all the time.

Both my boys are quite mature even the 8 year old and know right from wrong and real and make believe. Would let them play early call of duty games but not the black ops ones.

As long as game doesn't have any heavy sex scenes, hard swearing, or dark overtones, Am fine with them killing trolls ect lol, but say if there was bad cut scenes with children getting killed, or rape scenes, anything overly scary mature....... wouldn't want that

In 200hrs ive not heard a gameplay swear at all, theres lots of huffing an puffing sword action an like you say 'mortal kombat' blood, finishing moves etc..
The only place you will find probably constant swears is in the global chatrooms but they can be disabled, like any game it only takes one idiot to pop in there an start talking crap;)

Also as far as 'sex' scenes i have again seen none, again its like you say the odd boob or 2, and if a player chooses a female character sometimes they may run around naked but im talking pixel stuff an theres not really any bad stuff.

It is a heavily male dominated world i would say with that traditional fantasy element, often quests will involve rescuing a female character tied up etc

Overall Barry i would say maybe wait for another comment who may have more on the nudity/swear front from being more experienced than me, but i would say for a 16yr old its nothing but maybe let the 9yr old watch for a bit an see how it goes;)

I wouldn't be too concerned either, the game is never gross or explicit, the themes are mature for sure, but nothing shocking.
Even for a young player, maybe at first he'll be like "omg, boobs !" but then he eventually realizes there's nothing to be amazed about, yea, women have boobs, they have arms and legs too, whatever.

For 8 years old kid on the other hand, i don't know, it would require some hand holding in my opinion, since i'm not sure someone that young is ready to deal with an MMO community, in which, like in any community, you have decent people, but also stupid ones.

Hmm the game is 18 rated so they do expect everyone to be at least that age. So there is no option to turn it off completely. Chat is largely un-monitored and bad language is allowed.

There is also nudity. Though this has been toned down since the beta, there used to be full frontal :P
