It's alive, but not with the kind of mentality that people want in an MMO, and the fact it's so old now means nothing is ever day about the slurs and derogatory comments in chat from the resident pro-trump kind of trolls.
That and their love for everything Conan. There's just nothing else out there with the same experience.
I don't know from what year you're talking (and I'd believe it for the old pure Pvp servers back at the start of the game), but that's never been my impression over the years up to the present.
You'll get some a$$hat's from time to time, but that's about it and if they cross the line they get shut down pretty quick.
It is unique, yes, but when I count 45 people on the whole server in the evening that is a dead game. It's not going to get better.
