Is this playable on the Steam Deck?

I only play Steam games on my Steam Deck nowadays, and I just discovered this game and want to try it out. Is there any way to play this on the deck? I'm fine with workarounds/unofficial methods to get it running.

I run it on linux, but as for controls on the deck i can't really speak on. You'll have to do some tinkering to get it to work. You need to install protontricks and add some dll's, and use proton version 7.0.6 and make sure you change the game settings to DIRECT X10 once you get the launcher up. Direct x9 crashes with steam. (unless you, for whatever reason want to use direct x9 and cut performance and visuals by a lot, you can get it to work with the launch command - PROTON_USE_WINED3D=1 %command% ). Ok, for the dll's you need to install with protontricks - d3dcompiler_43, d3dcompiler_47(probably don't need it, but its what i have installed), d3dx10_43, d3dx9_43, d3dx9, dxvk, dxvk1094, dxvk1102. Thats all. I listed what i'm using and it runs no issues. some of those dll's might not even be needed but i haven't got around to testing which got everything working. And just in case, i will give you the launch options i'm using. But idt they are needed at all. When i was testing older proton version they were needed, and i just never deleted them. I'll give it a test later to see if it changes anything without them, but here you go - PROTON_USE_D9VK=1 PROTON_USE_SECCOMP=1 %command%

Oh, and you might need to launch in fullscreen(windowed) your first launch. Maybe not. Try out fullscreen first. If you run into a issue change to fullscreen(windowed). You might get a pop up about drivers being out of date, just click no you don't want to update drivers, and check the box to don't show me again. Thats if it pops up at all though. That popped up for me when i was first tinkering with it, and didn't have those dll's. You can change back to fullscreen ingame afterwards.

Please i am making a mess with this,i installed the dlls. The last commands i have no idea where to write them. Winetricks? Help!!! I trying to play AOC on Steam deck too!!!

You shouldn't need those commands if you're using proton version 7.0. But, you put them in the steam launch options. Right click the game in steam, go to properties. Under the general tab is Launch Options. Also properties - under the Compatibility tab, is where you would force a specific proton version - in this case you want to use 7.0

I tryed yet all protons posibles,from the lowest to the Max and Hot fix protón and experimental protón.

Nothing works.

With those dll's you install with proton tricks you should have no issues at all launching the game. Even with just d3dcompiler_43, d3dx9_43, and d3dx10_43 alone, you should be able to get in game. But you would eventually crash without the other dll's mentioned above in my previous post. Granted i don't have a steam deck to test this out, but i run the game on arch linux, no issues at all. I would need more information to help you. What happens when you launch the game? Does it crash before getting to the launcher? Is your launcher green? If you manage to launch the game, does the game crash after creating a character or trying to log in to an existing character? etc... Is the game launching in a little window and you can't open it? If so try launching the game in (windowed)fullscreen or even just windowed. If that doesn't work you can try this - Run proton tricks, select age of conan, select the default wineprefix, browse files, then delete(move to trash) winetricks.log. Exit proton tricks. Now go to steam, and make sure the proton version for age of conan is forced to 7.0.6. Now run proton tricks again, select age of conan, select deafult wine prefix, install a windows DLL or component, and check all the dll's from my original post here and install them. Make sure you're launching the game with direct x10 once you get the launcher up. Also try launching in (Windowed)Fullscreen, or even windowed the first time you launch the game. You can switch to Fullscreen after you get in game, and don't have to do that again after the first launch and can just launch the game in fullscreen from now on. Hope that fixes the issues.

Well i get a message error of lack of symbols and the game give me the option to continue to the launcher,i download all the files of the game then launch the game then log in and then,at the moment to create a character,an error message appears and the game only give me the option to send the message error or not send and automatically the game exit to the game steam profile.

Edit: after run Steam deck from fabrik (erased all data and reinstalled)

I end here. I will buy an Asus rog ally,easyest to run those Windows games. Ty btw.
