Can't log into Age of Conan

Let's pretend my main account name is john. I am able to log into account management with that ID and password. When I do, it shows my user ID for the actual AoC game as johnaoc. When I start the client, I use both john and johnaoc to try to log in, but neither works. I use the password from the john account. I'm really confused on how this is supposed to work. Any help?

Just had an epiphany. My account used to be premium. i.e. I paid a subscription. Now it is inactive. I guess there is no free-to-play option for an account that was premium? I'm ok with that... Just trying to figure it out.

The user ID and password you use to log into the account management is the same as the user ID and password you should use to log into the client. Whether you're still subbed of f2p your old account will still work. There will be other reasons why you may not be able to log in from internet connection to firewall/antivirus settings and M$ own game breaking updates. Contact Funcoms helpline they'll be able help with the AoC account side of things.

Once upon a time we were all sub'd account. The game going F2p doesn't effect old premium accounts. My went the same as yours and I've been playing it as F2p since it went free.

You might also try changing you password via your account page. Couple months back I changed mine and my account stopped working just like yours is now. I changed the password again and it started letting me log in again.

hi i had a problem with some error saying password is case sensitive or some ♥♥♥♥, i turned of numlock, scrolllock and made sure caps lock was off and it accepted my password, no idea if its same thing

Your game account and website account names and passwords do not necessarily have to be the same. It's possible to create multiple subscription profiles under a single account, or what we typically call a "Master" account from the website.

im totally lost with this the password for the game i can't find where it gets reset :/
and i've tried restting it on the account page and that does nothing :(

Now just a few things about changing your password in AoC;

- DON'T make it longer than 12 characters. Unlike other games, the shorter the better here.

- DON'T use any special characters, NUMBERS and LETTERS ONLY.

- There's a cycle time between changing it on the account page and that info getting over to the game. Could be as short as 15 mins or could take all day. Both and everything in between has been reported here. So you do need a bit of patience when changing it.

When I had to change mine it took me 3 tries to get it to take. So don't give up.

Welcome to the age of insanity where funcom never takes care of their customers user data. Locks it up. And makes it impossible to use. I have tried to do an account recovery to the email I used but... no account with that email was found... it's impossible to make a new account or even recover a pre existing account. And here I've downloaded the game once again to have that little bit of nostalgia only to be betrayed because funcom doesn't care about user protection just our subscriptions and meta data.
