i just installed Age of Conan: Unchained and i made my account, but when i try to log in to play, it's says "Authentication failure". Do i need to become a member in order to play??

No it's a F2p game, all you have to do is make a Funcom Age of Conan account and download it.

I just stole this from the post right below your's:

Did you use the updated "create your account" page to create an account or change your password:

The random "Play for free" and "Create account" around the website are usually bugged.

Also you have to make sure that both your e-mail and password contain letters and numbers ONLY.

One more thing, your password must be shorter than 13 characters and I suppose the bug can occur even if your e-mail contains a lot of characters.

When you create your account or change your password, you also have to wait an hour or so before the updated account information reaches their servers and becomes updated in the game client.

That's a lot of info that isn't mentioned anywhere and most users have trouble logging in their accounts if these conditions aren't fullfilled.
