Funcom launcher vs steam

I have had funcom account long before it came to steam will my chars be playable from the steam client or do I need to download the funcom launcher for those or start over on steam?

You'll be fine getting to your characters whichever you use. All Steam does is add a layer in before getting to the official launcher.

It's all the same game and the same launcher and you use the same old username and password on it as from when you last played.

This just isn't true. I can log in to my account on funcoms pages just fine and i am using the username not the account name. I even made a new account and can't log in with that one either.

First the OP and you are talking about two different things.

What you're situation is I couldn't say as I've been logging in off and on with no problems. I do know that the 'My Account' log in doesn't have to be the same as the Game log in. I keep mine the same just so I'm not having to remember something different.

I did have a problem once where my password stopped working and the change password wouldn't take via the launcher spot. I ended up logging into 'My Account' where it still worked and changed it there. It took a couple of changes for it to finally work.

Over on the official forums they did say a new password from a change could take anywhere from 5 to 30 min to kick in.
