Killing the Blood Defiler
I am a Demonologist.
I burn the Blood Defiler down to under 50%, he knocks me down and returns to his pool to regen.
I stand up immediately, click the Totem (next to me) and he is ALWAYS back to 100% health no matter how quickly I do it.
Is this a glitch?

Apparently, that's working as intended, because I guess the only way Funcom can make a fight challenging is to make it grossly unfair.

He only regens three times, so it work with enough potions on a barbarian. Given how closse that was and demonologist being lower HP and armor, you probably will want to look for build advice to have that optimal dps output.

I learned about the 'click on fountain' trip just recently and tried it with my DT this time. Only managed to get to it once out of the 3 times, but that one stopped his refill at 70% so it can be done if you're lucky.

Other than that he'll refill 3 times, which is a pretty common F/C tactic. Just plan on fighting a 100% NPC 3 times to beat it. And yes it's a pain.

There is a statue you have to click on as soon as you get knocked back, wich makes him stop healing.

Great advice! Also if you got DC'ED when you are fighting him and the lotus are non-clickable when you go back in, all you have to do to get the defiler to attack is kill one of his slaves behind him.

Did that several times in the last couple of weeks ... I could never click the statue, but he knocked me back three or four times, healed himself up and after the third/fourth time, he did that no longer and I could kill him. I think it always comes at a certain Hit point level (like at 75%, 40% and 25%).

You have to click on the statue AFTER he knocks you back. At the start of the battle, try and pull him close to the statue so he has to run back to the pool, wich gives you time to get up and click the statue before he heals.

Don't be surpirsed if he heals to full health the first time around regardless of how quickly you click; the healing ticks are high enough to effectively nullify the counter strategy when he was only down to 75% (unless you click so fast should be pro gaming Counter Strike instead of wasting your time on AoC).

You should see the statue helps the second and third time around.
