Start it, go to bed, should be done in plenty of time.
It's not really a matter of speed since with Steam you're looking at 2 downloads because for some reason (prob hardware) the files in Steam just aren't kept up to date. I guess it's the same situation as if you downloaded a game from the Disk and then went online to the game, it would need to bring the files up to date.
Somewhere on one of the Steam fourms it talks about starting Steam to get it to registar and then stopping it and completing the download from the companies site. With directing the companies download to the Steam files - I don't do that so I'm not sure. That way you get the Steam time counter, wallet etc.... , but don't have to put up with downloading the game two times.
