We Can Bring This Game Back to Life!

Okay, so I have only played a little bit of Age of Conan, but holy crap, I love it. It is just my type of game. We all know the game is... I don't like saying it, but dead. Even those who deny it (very few people) know. But think about it, what if this game was brought back to life, I mean I came here from a Big Bang Theory episode haha XD (the episode is in season 2 ep. 3. It is called The Barbarian Sublimation, penny gets addicted to it.) BUT ANYWAY, back to the topic, I think this game just needs more attention from the internet, steam, discussions, etc. There is so much negativity toward the game, but trust me I get it, the game is almost garbage, but it all goes back to that, it gets so much negativity! We need to find the good. We can all do it! So let's all participate, let's start some discussions, make reviews, share information on the internet (through Youtube, social media, etc.) or even the good old fasion way... Telling our friends XD.

This game is flat out dead, still an alright amount of players I know that, but not many people still enjoy the game. That can change.

What do y'all think? Reply or message anything, do you agree, disagree, somewhat agree. Let's hear it.

For this game to become more alive again it's really up to Funcom but they have not tried to much to bring new players or old back tbh for many many years.

Game needs to get way more updates. An MMO that barely never updates is not attractive to many players which is one of the big reasons people left long term fans of the game even.
They never really advertised to much either to get more to come play the game.

Age of Conan is still one of my favorite mmos and i played it active until just 2-3 years ago all the way since the Beta.

I still play off and on, but Banto has it right. Unless Funcom puts some love into it nothing will ever get better.

It needs advertising, bug fixes, cleaned up and some more content. Plus lowering the prices of the sub & expansion's wouldn't hurt.

We can only hope F/C takes some of the Conan Exiles monies they're making and channels it back to AoC.

I hope they will take some conan exile money and add to the game. But if the game gets more screen time ( youtube/ twitch etc ) then perhaps they will focus more on the game. I mean.. tbh.. Why put time and resources into updates for a game that is " dead " ? Wont give much in return.

Totally agree. This game needs more attention from Funcom, they need to re-visit it and patch it up, finish it up, and advertise it a lot more. I suppose it really is just up to Funcom, we can bring people to the game but they really aren't gonna stay if the game stays like this. I think the game being "advertised" by Big Bang Theory was pretty funny and really good for the game, but unfortunately that was a very old episode, if you have no clue what I'm talking about search up Big Bang The Barbarian Sublimation. One of the main characters gets addicted to the game XD I know plenty of people who have discovered the game from this episode aswell. But yes, the game needs to be "modernized." The graphics are fine though, its the bugs and the un-finished content.

Ayidawedo, I agree with you completely for the most part, but this game was pretty damn successful at launch, but that ended rather fast.

So yeah, thanks for the opinions, I agree with all of you, this game needs more put into it, more advertisment, but why waste time and resources doing so? I suppose it's somewhat of a gamble.

I loved this game back in the day! But there is no way to repair this game. The german community manager once said he was very shocked how completely broken this game is. After every update they made to this game it broke something else. There werent able to fix this problem and the game never got the chance to overcome these bugs and got stuck. I m really sorry for this game but funcom ♥♥♥♥♥♥ it up

Maybe once they're done with developing Exiles, AoC will see devs allocated to it. I play the game on an almost daily basis, it's my absolute favourite... I have other MMOs like Elder Scrolls Online or Final Fantasy XIV, I think neither comes close to being as fun or immersive as AoC is. The game has a lot of potential and I just hope Funcom grows to realize that...

Well to start one can organize oneself. Is there a good group for people that play this game to get togeter? Also.. I saw funcoms financial report and AoC are still after all these years going + for them. So as long as the game ern them money they will not emove it. I guess it is just a matter of making it earn more and to have people stay after they start playing.

Exiles is a flop in the making. It will be abandoned midway through next year.

Face it. This game is dead and nothing will bring it back to life.

This MMO will probably get shut down next year too.

When you watch reruns of the episode, do you pick out all the spots that don't match the game, but were changed for the show?

I guess the best way to make the game at least feel alive or fun until they fix it is to partner up with some peeps and make level 1 characters together and just play till you max out, I had some good memories playing AOC most of them with friends so if anyone is interested in playing AOC hit me up, once College Finals are done I got Winter Break and I am looking to play with some lads :)

I still suggest some kind of steam AoC community group where people can gather and stuff. Dont know if there is a good real group that is active for active players or " bring the game back to life " type.

A Steam group could be nice. I'd suggest a Discord server aswell, we already have a subreddit, so why not? Most games these days have some kind of unofficial community Discord server running for players to keep in touch.
