Which triggers are best for each Character/Weapon ?
it seems the triggers (by which i mean actual weapon skills, part of the A combo that you can customize) are very unequal in terms of efficiency.

I'm just at the start (after the Pollex in Sandheim) but here are my findings,

I just want to get the discussion started, i'll edit the post to add info later except if some veterans post more useful info before

In general the whole mechanics of this game seem really OBSCURE and hard to understand, hence the need for this topic, for the (rare) players who are playing it to pool info together

General Notes and combat tips

It seems you have to deduce yourself the amount of hits a 'trigger' does from the animation sprites, the "Power XXX" shown seems to be for a single hit, even if the attack does like 10 of them. It makes comparing the triggers between them very difficult. It seems multi-hits triggers have a better scaling, has for instance at the same level, a x3 hit trigger will have Power 65 vs a single hit trigger of the same color and level will have for instance 150.
It seems some triggers are single target and some others are AoE and it also effects the Power Scaling accordingly, but i'm not sure.

General Boss fight TIP:
ALWAYS switch to the character WHO DRAWS AGGRO, and orient it away from other two AI members. This will increase your survival rate TREMENDOUSLY.
Also swap when ITS SAFE ONLY to do the X attacks of everyone when it's up.
Remember to do the "Hold A" attack when the boss is stunned for max damage.

Character-Weapon TRIGGERS COMPARISON

Cyan-Sword

Been using Flame Saber/Comet Cleaver/Flare Dragon Combo but unsure about the first two. The Flare Dragon seem to perform better, i have no idea how long the 'Temporarily increases damage output' buff works though

Cyan-Bow

RED TRIGGER : Sonic ARC vs Multi Shot

Multishot seem to do more overall power per Sync spent, i don't know if it has less range than the alternative, Sonic Arc, as the tooltip suggest. It seems

YELLOW TRIGGER : Rapide Fire Gandiva VS Rainbow Fall

same here it seems gandiva gives more damage for your sync buck and overall higher dps. I could be wrong.

BLUE: Backshot vs Tailpin Spread
if you control Cyan, tailpin spread will give more dps imo
if you control an other char i think backshot is better, as the AI will jump backwards and evade stuff more easily.

Elise-Bow
critrate trigger with HP Seal rune also work same as for Zantis during hard encounters.
rest i'm unsure, bow dps seem really bad anyway.
same as for Cyan, the backjump blue trigger seem to increase her survivability somehow during hard fights. Don't know if the dps loss is worth it though.

Elise-Spear

Elise-Fists

Zantis-Axe
I think the optimized setup tend to be
Aerial Axe (increase sync recovery which axe is in dire need of) RED + Bardiche Surge YELLOW and Rock Crusher BLUE for Crit Rate + Crit DMG combo. You can equip the Weapon Manatite 'HP STEAL X' so that crit will heall Zantis during hard bossfight reinforcing that synergy, especially when you don't control him i've noticed he lives a bit longer doing this.

Zantis-Fists

as you can see it's only a partial guide to get the discussion going as i'm barely 7 hours in.
I Might give up soon seeing so low interest in the game...

My setup is this, I find these to be best for me.
In most of the combos you need to hit fast, hit hard, with the least multi attacks for some weapons, since if your skills have long animations and you cancel it, you are just wasting time not damaging the boss.

Cyan sword - flame saber / comet / flare dragon
Fast, single hits, can dodge and do damage.

Elise bow - arc rain / gandiva drop / springshot arrow
You are using bow, shooting from far, all other aoe skills that surrounds you are useless.

Zantis axe - reaper swing / bardiche surge / rolling torpedo
fast single hits with nice aoe coverage.

For the rest of the weapons I just focuses on single hit,
short animation, then aoe coverage.

I don't often use the trigger skills too, especially those that have long animations,
like for example, elise's gun trigger skill have her shooting the bullets to the sky, then the bullet become big rock and drop to the ground crushing enemy, if you dodge before the full animation ends, you deal little to no damage at all.

for the mananites.
I go with attack augite, hp steal, hp absorber for non bosses.
and attack augite, hp steal, barrier buster for bosses.

you NEED barrier buster for bosses, especially end game bosses, it's gonna be snoozefest, I almost fell asleep fighting boss because it takes forever to break the barrier, only to do 1/4 to 1/3 of boss hp.

for armor, i only use 2, exp booster for non bosses, and defense augite for bosses.
I find the rest of the mananites to be near useless.
And their effect stacks for armor ones.

Stacking 3 untouchable jewel V is useless btw.
you would think stacking 3 jewel with 'chance to prevent damage A++' would make you near untouchable, but nope, you only dodge like 1 hit out of every 4-5 hits.
I tried only using 1 untouchable jewel V, the effect is horrendous, it's like it's not even there, you can forget about using this jewel, it's ♥♥♥♥.

cheers that's useful info
what about other weapons ? spear, staff, fist, ...

also wtf is up with that special loot from enemies, it never drops and always show a '?' when i try with every weapon at my disposal.

Do you need to come back with later-unlocked weapons?

In urbantheia at the moment and only have access to sword bow axe spear fist and all the desert enemies didn't drop their weapon specific drop for me

These items can either be Order, Chaos or Harmony Shards, Fragments or Crystals.

You can farm these items by landing a “kill shot” with a specific weapon on that enemy. For example, if I were to kill a Jam with a sword, there is a chance that they can drop a fragment.

I will say that it came be any of the eight weapons and not necessarily the weapons you have access to at that point in the game.

The obtained shards are then used to augment your Manatite crafting to ensure a “Major Success.”

I’d say the best way to farm these shards is to equip all three of your members with that specific weapon to ensure that the weapon needed lands the killing blow.

Hope this helps!
