Anyone else can't get past a static black screen?

I'm playing on a laptop with an i7, GTX 1060 and 16gb of RAM but the game doesn't seem to work. I've also forced the exe to use Nvidia graphics both from the Nvidia Control Panel and the graphics settings on Windows, but that doesn't change anything.

It does seem to work on a desktop PC but not on laptop. After tinkering a bit further I found the issue was caused by a faulty Windows Media Feature Pack install. Reinstalling that optional feature on Windows 10 fixed the issue. This is something other games requiring it notify about through a popup window, but I guess It's been a while since I've played any requiring this feature on Windows. Here's hoping this bit of info helps anyone else.
