There's some solo content here, but it's on the lighter side! We'll be adding solo content over time, but multiplayer is definitely the focus.

If you need parties, they are spinning up on our Discord. https://discord.gg/fablecraft and look for the #🎪-party-finder channel.

i just found this game and have always wanted to try D&D Tabletop rpg kinda stuff, but was always overwhelmed with how it is handled and feel im not smart enough or possibly it wouldnt hold my interest long enough to keep at it. But this game seems easy enough to get to know and maybe help me understand it more. I also am more of an solo gamer, but am willing to mingle with a few rando's if need be for a good game.

Welcome to TTRPGs! You are the exact right player for Fablecraft. There are people here on the forums, of course, but you might want to check out our Discord to find a group of randos. There's a party finder channel there, and groups have been forming each day since launch.

So one thing that seems to be missing is the way to stage large parts of the story before players join. Maybe there's just a larger learning curve than I expected. But in DRAFT mode it would be nice to be able to easily create a framework similar to the tutorial and jump in as the GM when needed when players are available. Possibly even to create NPC players that fill the roles not occupied by a player and be playable by the GM. Not so much a single player mode as a play with yourself mode to determine the flow of the game. To me as a player the demo was really promising but there needs to be significantly more functionality on the GM side than one would get from power point and a dice rolling macro.

I think what you're looking for is an in-game notepad or even a Game Master Guide builder. These are on our roadmap, for sure! Fablecraft is great right now for on-ramping new GMs. I think experienced GMs will find a lot of nice tools, but will want more from homebrew and campaign creation. That's all coming as we've only now entered Early Access.

Hope you stick around for it!

1 thing I would like to see added would be an game lobby. I know servers could get pricey.. but being an GM and not having friends or trying to search for some on discord isnt enough at times. An active lobby for players to see who is playing and see who wants to play as a character or GM would be nice for the game in the future.

Matchmaking is on the roadmap, for sure! it'll just come later in Early Access.

While this project is still in development, I would suggest something like Wildermyth, For The King 2, Dark Quest 2, Divinity Original Sin (Series) or Baldur's Gate 3 (in that order). Or, you could play various Dungeon Crawl style board games like Descent, Gloom Haven, Mansions of Madness, etc on Tabletop Simulator.

If you want something more solo style, Fabled Lands and Abalon are good.
