Lost speech accuracy with latest update
Is it just me or the last update has made the speech recognition much worse than before? It’s mostly noticeable when issuing take off clearances, I simply cannot provide any wind information as the software gets confused and comes up with crazy instructions that render the clearance invalid.

This didn’t happen to me before the update. I retrained again the speed recognition of my PC no to avail. The hot fix didn’t repair this degradation of the inbuilt grammar software either.

I wish there was a tool to remove unwanted updates. Unfortunately unless this issue gets fixed this is the end of the road for me with this game. I simply cannot spend money on more airports if simple and “realistic” aspects of ATC cannot be reasonably simulated. It’s frustrating at best.

Thanks

Francisco

What is the exact command you are using?

I do agree. I can see youtubers doing it fine but for me, someone with a speech impediment it's quite difficult to communicate via talking

I am sorry to hear you have to deal with this condition. Have you tried training your PC to recognise your voice accurately?

The speech recognition is getting bamboozled sometimes. I'm constantly having issues with "via" taxi instructions. When i'm speaking too fast for the game it often takes "at" instead of "via". In that case i need to leave a little pause behind every word so game is getting it right.

Another classic is "charlie" (C) being recognized as "charlie 8" (C8). It can be annoying when you need to speak fast at a busy airport and the game can't cope.

I get those confusions very often in Lisbon LPPT as most of the taxiways are a letter plus a number. Regarding the reported winds at take off, I have tried slowing down but without success. Normally if I am lucky I can get any figure from 55 to 360 knots or so. If I am not lucky I just get weird stuff such, taxi to, standby, repeated winds…etc.

What really bothers me is that prior to the update this didn’t happen. I was checking yesterday videos on YouTube and most simmers do not include wind info in their take off clearances however I managed to find someone who did and the software would clearly recognize the reported winds. Obviously this video, 2 months old, was before the update.

I hope they do something about it or provide a tool to uninstall them..

Thanks for the info, I don´t use discord, that is why I missed it.

I can't issue the "Line up and wait behind next landing aircraft" instruction anymore. It just recognizes something vastly different.

The command has changed with the latest update.
It's now: Line up behind next landing aircraft
If you want the original command back, open file "commands.csv" (can be found in the 'Airports' folder) with a proper text editor like Notepad++ and change the command.

I would like to thank the developers for fixing in the last update the issue with speech recognition I encountered 2 updates ago. It works almost perfectly now so I’m back again “binge-controlling”.

Thanks again
