Runway Change?
Why can we no longer have aircraft change runways prior to landing? When you tell an aircraft to change to runway X, the response is negative, need proper runway.

It depends. The runway you give them might be too short for example.

When a plane is far out enough, you can send it to another runway using command: [callsign] enter final runway [runway nbr]
Of course the chosen runway has to be suitable for the plane type.

Thanks, but the command was always change to runway (nbr). As far as runway length being suitable, that goes without saying. I am a licensed pilot, so that one I know! I'll try the enter final command.

You are right.
Just checked the start guide (dated 17-07-2023) and that is listing two commands for the same action:

#airplane1; ENTER FINAL RUNWAY ;#runway1
#airplane1; CHANGE TO RUNWAY ;#runway1

Will give the second one a try and when it is failing (which it probably does as you already said) I will create a bug report for it.

Tried it the the current version of towerspeakbridge.exe as well as the one that was the previous released version and in neither of them the command "change to runway" is working. So at least it is broken for a while or got removed at some point. Will file a bug report about it.

Thank You!

Thank you! I'll ask our senior dev as well about it, as I am not sure at the moment about this command.

I've been using the "change to runway" fairly recently without issue.

It's now 2025, the command still doesn't work and this is after update 5. In real life, if a small aircraft is landing on a runway completely removed from it's parking area, most controllers will land them on a runway closer to the parking area. In larger airports, ie; Japan, or KATL, taxiing a small aircraft thru all the large air craft areas is bad practice, as well as taxiing large aircraft thru those areas, if their parking area is closer by landing them on a more convenient runway. Nuff Said
It's been like this for ages actually, I just accepted using the "Enter final runway #" Makes no difference to me really.
