Black Screen after the first mission loads.

Every time i go to start the campaign, after the first loading screen is finished and i press a key to continue, the screen goes black. I can play the tutorial though. i am running as a admin, i am running in compatibility mode with windows XP, i have checked the file integrity, however each time i do it redownloads 6 files. Has anyone solved this problem?

I have the EXACT same problem! I still haven't figured out what to do, I contacted Steam Support but still no reply.

I did something, I uninstalled de Soviet Assault expansion, then validated the game cache files on the original World in Conflict. This made the campaign to apparently run fine, just without the Soviet Assault content, which sucks, since I paid for it. So it seems that are the expansion's files that are causing the problem. I'm still waiting for a reply from support.

Run in compatibility mode with Windows XP (Service Pack 3)

Compatibility mode only fixes the crashes, not the campaign loading problem.

I play Sviet Campaign no problem, even though I onl did two missions because I much rather prefer skirmishes.
With a trainer lol. Infinite unit points and resource points. It's fun.

Yes.
Step 1: (Skip this step if you have not modified game files) If you have the games installed, uninstall both of them. Then, reinstall both of them
Step 2: Uninstall World in Conflict (Normal Edition)
Step 3: Verify the Game's Cache of Soviet Assault.
Step 4: Profit???

If you get the error of the main menu being black, go to (for me) My Documents\World in Conflict\Game Options.txt

When you open up the file, find this line: "myDX10Flag 1"
Change that to "myDX10Flag 0"
Hope this helps. Worked for me.

i bought this game 3 hours ago and it is saying the same thing on both of them, Fialed to start game app already running. after 3hours of verifing files on both over and over and over, it still is saying 6 files are still missing and is reacquireing them. the wicsa loadeds up and touturial runs but the campain takes forever to load and then screen goes black after pressing esc a few times the mission starts but all i see is the enviroment and the hud. the timer is counting down i can see any allied or enemy activity or even call in reinforcments. i brought up the objectives and the ui is blank. can someone help me ?

cant find the file but i uninstalled wicsa and wic worked after i reverified.... i want to play wicsa.....

Cant find the file? It has to be there or your game wouldnt even startup.
