Wait did you really buy the game after making this topic?
I made this post because I didn't know the reasons why it flopped but from what I read it didn't. These are the numbers that these games get so maybe a remake/remaster of the Joker series isn't out of discussion
So just making baseless accusations 1 hour into release and then back pedaling it nice.
maybe, just maybe that's because all of them have been lazy low budged ports so far that only got on steam as an after-thought instead of, you know, part of the main audience?
like seriously, i would've gladly gotten all the DQ games on steam, with DQM being the main attraction for me actually (since i've been hooked on that series ever since the DWM titles from the gameboy), but since all we got so far looks like it's from at least 1-2 decades ago, has gameplay etc limited to what consoles can handle, denuvo garbage slapped on it and heck, even features removed there's simply no way in hell i'd pay for that.
Or, maybe, just maybe: we aren't the main audience... at all.
The whole series has always been a thing that was most popular in Japan.
Especially the Dragon Quest >>Monsters<< games have been relegated to a rather small niche.
Besides, reaching 50k-100k concurrent players on steam is something only absolute blockbuster games manage to reach. We are talking about the 1% of the 1% of releases on the platform.
Ah yes, 1 outta 100 games released not to mention has actual marketing, this was dropped on steam and the only fanfare it got for advertisement was one newsletter email you had to be on the square enix mailing list for.
You must be new to PC gaming is that why private profile? Upgraded from mobile gaming eh? You got clash of clans? I got a pretty sick base on my bluestacks if you ever wanna vs my mobile man
Could have a playerbase of 10 and I wouldn't care. Doesn't affect my playthrough at all as it's a single player game. No playerbase required.
I have zero regrets. I'm loving it as it's exactly what I expected.
