Debuffs/Status Effects on bosses?

Before I buy it, is this one of those JRPGs that doesn't let you debuff bosses?

u can, but all of them are emun to death spells
what kind of debuff works depends on the boss

Some of them are weak to certain stuff e.g. dazzle or sap so it's a matter of capitalizing on those weaknesses

Don't expect to cheese them with stun/poison/sleep/instant death though, all immune to that

I've had some success using some of the more minor statuses, like debuffing Defense or wrecking their attack accuracy on some of them. Having a Monster with Brake Wind and using it on Bosses with high powered Breath Attacks has given me more then a few fun moments. :D

One nice thing about Bosses in this game is they don't hard shut down any and all attempt to exercise some level of strategy in fights.
