In order to hopefully trim down a couple unnecessary threads/discussions, we figured it would be best to leave a thread up answering some of the most common questions...

1.) I have a bug, where do I report it?

-If you have encountered a bug, the fastest place to report is over on the Parasite Black discord, attach a save, a crash report, and any relevant details. Beware SOME mods may be triggering a bug if you're using them, see About mods and but-reports thread for more details.

2.) Where are cheat codes?

Cheat codes will be made available as part of a small DLC pack containing other goodies sch as a walkthrough, exclusive posters and more.

3.) My save is having issues after bugfix X!

While we've implemented save compatibility between builds, a few unforeseen bugs and issues have hampered our progress, that shortly, we believe we should have resolved. Please bear with us, we ARE tackling the issues.

4.) I don't like to see X content, can I have a toggle to turn it off?

All romantic encounters are optional in Parasite Black, but we will not be adding in numerous toggles for three reasons.

-First, Our lore is our lore, and we believe in sticking to our guns and keeping that an integral part of our world building. Adding toggles to remove certain romance characters, or change their sexuality/gender, we feel greatly diminishes the story and what we're trying to do.

-It's additional work, time and money for us. (Please note, incomplete quests (WIP) are the exception, as they may be missing essential elements, routes, choices, etc that we will be adding in asap.)

-And thirdly, it opens the floodgates to what could be dozens of toggles to the point of absurdity.

As we've said before, if you don't like a romance option in PB, do not pursue them and remember, some content may not be to your tastes, but it may be to another players. Be kind to your fellow adventurer!

5.) Can I swap out perks?

We don't plan on letting people swap out perks and things, as we feel that takes away from the RPG spirit we're going for. We *want* each players' experience to hopefully feel a little unique, and your parasite's journey to feel that little bit more personal, if we allowed perks to be able to just be swapped out on a whim, then everyone's experience will be the much more similar, and we feel the replay value will be lost a bit.

6.) I'm lost/What do I do now?

If you're lost and need support, (and don't have the walkthrough guide from the DLC when it's available), consider heading over to the discord and 'walkthrough' section, where other helpful adventurers may be able to assist you!

7.) How do I get XP in Parasite Black?

You primarily get XP from Parasite Black from quests, AND you gain a one-time XP boost from every new character you seduce.

8.) Where is the gallery?

The gallery can be found in the witch/soothsayer hut in the pleasure district, just north of the Market district in Novaras. The gallery will be made available in other major cities too once they are developed. Pay the soothsayer to see the past...

9.) The infection rate is rising too fast! What do I do?

If you haven't seduced anyone to lower the infection rate, try to head to the pleasure district and pay to lower it, or, head to the church of Al'Vazah and pay for a blessing. It's important to keep on top of your infection meter... Plan journeys accordingly.

10.) Can I use a save editor?

You can, but we strongly recommend against this. Parasite Black is not a traditional renpy game in any sense of the world, and its code reflects that. Making changes using save editors is highly likely going to break/cause issues with your save.

11.) Why not rollback?

Same reason as above, pretty much. Given the nature of the game and it's code, rollback more often than not can and will trigger bugs.

I dont understand who futa content is catered too. If this is meant to be a lgbtq game then make it it, don't sell it as a game for straights in that case, and vice versa. I want a refund.

Given #7 meaning you have to seduce characters to level up, and concerning #4:

What about just having a "scene skip"/"fade to black" option for sexualities and just flag each scene Heterosexual/Homosexual/Pansexual? If a toggle is too tricky, could it maybe be presented as a choice before each scene instead e.g. "This scene, as you can probably guess, is heterosexual. View scene? Yes/No"

That way anyone who wants to see the content can normally and for people who it doesn't suit they can skip it. Win/Win

WIP stands for work in progress. I.e, typically incomplete art, or, in some cases, a questline itself may be incomplete with the WIP disclaimer.
