TECH DEMO PATCH #001

This is the first of many little patches that we aim to release every Monday from now on c:

Fixes:

• Animations on other players should no longer occasionally appear frozen
  
• Dragon projectile-lock now removes its target properly
  
• Dragons now have relevancy distance; dragons that are further out will no longer be rendered or processed on your client
  
• Reduced server load on dragon movement replication
  
• New randomized spawns, initialized when you connect to the server
  
• Dragons now have higher step-up heights
  
• Simplified Human Animation system, so next animations are going to be better represented in the game engine.
  
• Fixed Block not working
  
• Fixed humans not getting damage from the dragons
  
• Fixed humans phasing through the ground when attacking

Map:

• Fixed (Removed) rocks spawning on grass/mountain tops where they don't belong anymore.
  
• Fixed some holes.
  
• Some work.
  
• Tweaked the Stair Collision to actually Stair.
  
• Deleted placeholder sound packs.
  
• Fixed Rock material having weird displacements
  
• Added a new Big cave on a mountain side
  
• Expanded the playable area a little bit
  
• Night during overcast is now brighter
  
• Optimized some materials and meshes

Good morning, afternoon, and evening—!

We’ve just released the Tech Demo build for everyone to try out! Please keep in mind, this is a tech demo or vertical slice—it is not a full game, and not even a true demo. You can play as one of three dragons or as a human. Humans will be able to equip armour and weapons for combat. This release is intended to showcase what we can achieve with minimal funding, and will run alongside our current Indiegogo campaign.

At present, we are aware of several game-breaking bugs, primarily affecting human characters. For example, being struck may cause your character to fall through the world—this will be fixed as soon as possible. Human hands are currently not appearing on weapons, and some animations appear to be bugged. We're not sure why this has happened, as the previous build was functioning correctly—but such is the life of a game developer!

Servers have been reduced from 100 down to 40 as we found that our networking currently won't support large numbers of players, this is currently being worked on but won't be ready before the end of the tech demo. If 40 is too much we will reduce it again but double the server count where needed.
