no entities
couldn't disagree more. imho entities completely defeat the core of anything liminal/anemoia/backrooms related which is complete solitude.
I will say, though, that in conversations with a friend who has also played the game, we've talked about how having a scripted cutscene – which could very well be random with each play through, and/or location sensitive – with an entity chasing you could work, potentially, just like how the game already has little cutscenes and scripted events for other things, like some diegetic music, noises, the curious but harmless entity showing up, and opening doors.
Cat and mouse gameplay where messing up = dying and having to try again doesn't fit with the found footage nature of the experience, but a cutscene would let you have the chase be part of the narrative, without disrupting the flow, or your ability to explore as much as you want otherwise.
I'd think that might be a good compromise between those wanting an entity chase, and those like me and my friend, who enjoy the relative solitude and pensive exploration.
The Complex games aren't perfect, but compared to all of the other games out there they're probably the best I've seen.
