70 € is an absolute joke for this remake, definitely hold off for a sale or look elsewhere to see if you can find it cheaper.

That said, the game itself is pretty good, I played this back on PS4 when it was "free" via PS+. Replaying it doesn't quite capture the magic of blind playthrough since the plot twists are already known but I still enjoyed it. This was Supermassive Games first interactive horror game and they never managed to dish out anything that comes close to Until Dawn

Until Dawn is absolutely peak. I played it back in 2015 and seeing it remastered is absolutely fantastic. My favorite horror game by far. I’m not a super big fan of horror but this game is absolutely phenomenal!

Super intense and scary a** game. I have never been so immersed into a game anything like this. This game is even better with an audience watching. Worth every bit of the $60 I spent on this!

great classic decision based horror game with amazing revamped graphics. finished my first playthrough in around 8 hours playtime and finished doing all the achievements in 36 hours playtime. lots of replayability to get different endings, get all the collectibles/achievements or just to hear all the different bits of dialogue based on the different choices you make throughout the game.

yes its expensive but you can end the game so many different ways its kind of a bunch of games in one.

I just finished my first play through and unfortunatly I lost my favourite character. pro tip: if something calls your name in the mines dont go to it.

Overall rating 99/100 im not really sure how it could improve other than I had a bit of freezing not lag but freezing during the playthrough

the fact that one dumb Markiplier animation where Ashley dies is the the sole reason i bought this game.

As this is a remake/remaster of the original Until Dawn, I will cover this game as a standalone and also in relation to the original.

As a standalone game, this is probably the best narrative choice game I've ever played, along with being a great horror game in general. It's the type of experience you have where, afterwards, you have to wiki everything about the world, the characters, other choices you could've made, etc. The story itself, (like the original) is extremely cleverly written and executed, extremely subtle and extremely complex. I played the whole thing in one go (the full story took about 7 hours for me to complete) as I simply couldn't put it down until its conclusion. I actually lost track of how long I'd been playing at one point, and I didn't care at all! I was going to keep playing! The decisions you make feel like they have a lot of weight, and decisions can be very sudden. For example, in my playthrough (SPOILER WARNING): I had to make a very quick decision which got one of the characters, Jess, killed near to the end of the game. After having created that outcome, I felt the stakes and the weight of that loss even though it was only a game. It had an emotional effect on me, which is exactly bang on what you want in a branching narrative, choice-based game. I absolutely recommend this game in either version.

As a remaster, this game has itself branched off from the original and gone in a pretty different direction in regards to many things. Often with a remaster, you'd expect that the graphics are improved, maybe some of the shadows or character models have been polished more, etc. You do get that in this version of the game, however it's also gone in a slightly different creative direction in regards to tone, setting, lighting, soundtrack and camera angles that quite a few of the players of the original game may or may not approve of. The disagreement is based on the identity of the original game versus the remake and how all those different parts create different tones. I wouldn't say I like either version better than the other based on what I've seen, as it's more based on what you prefer in all those aspects. A few of the original creative decisions have been removed in the remake whereas new other ones have been added into it. If you were only to play this version, as I did, you wouldn't fault this game at all, I'd just say you can see where the criticism the remaster has gotten from fans of the original is coming from once you actually study some of the differences between the two versions.

As a standalone game, this is absolutely worth getting a copy of. As a remaster, opinions may vary, both from new fans and old, but I'd still recommend it. I enjoyed it thoroughly.

The best horror game from Supermassive gets a beautiful remaster in Unreal Engine 5.

If you loved the original Until Dawn from 2014, the remaster will definitely excite you. It features improved visuals with ray tracing and a more modern look, bringing the eerie atmosphere to life like never before. Some new content has been added at the beginning and especially toward the end, which even hints at a possible Until Dawn 2.

The graphics are stunning, and while performance is generally acceptable, I recommend enabling frame generation for a smoother experience.

My biggest criticism is the price tag — €70 is far too much for a remaster. I strongly suggest waiting for a sale. In my opinion, a fair price would be around €40 to €50 at most.
