I actually enjoy the remake
I never owned a PlayStation, but I grew up watching YouTubers play this game. Was absolutely thrilled to hear about the remake on pc and purchased it right away. I don’t have any problems with any bugs and have thoroughly enjoyed this remake. I’m always open minded about changes in games. There’s things about the original that were better, and some upgrades that are pretty cool. I see a lot of hate for the remake on here. Anyone else who has enjoyed it? I’m almost finished getting all the achievements for this game.

Never played the game on PlayStation either. I never owned a PlayStation and never will. PC gaming Only. I'm on my second play thru at the moment. Each play thru you need to make different choices from the last one. Second play thru by changing my choices i unlocked New scenes and dialog I didn't get on the first play thru and got 5 achievements as well.

That’s sick! I love these types of games where you can replay and get totally different outcomes. Don’t really understand the hate with the remake, so wanted to see if anyone else was enjoying it like me. That’s cool.
Never played it on PS - always wanted this, now I finally played it and enjoyed it a lot. It's a really good game imo.

I agree. I didn't own a PS4, however, watching TheRadBrad play it I always wanted a PC port, but I'm quite pleased with the remake.

My only qualm is I wish they had dropped the wendigo and made Josh the actual killer, but it's still a very good game with perfectly fine performance for me as well.

I really like the backdrop of the lodge so I wish more of the game took place in and around it, there are still a lot of unexplored areas in the lodge.

Now, if only Supermassive would make a proper sequel.

Yes!! The lodge is so gorgeous and now with the new ending, I have my fingers crossed with a good sequel.

This is interesting: "The most substantive rumor about Until Dawn 2 comes courtesy of XboxEra co-founder Nick Baker, who recently tweeted that Firesprite is working on Until Dawn 2."

This is the article: https://gamerant.com/until-dawn-2-leaks-rumors-firesprite-developer/

A couple of paragraphs into it they get into the good stuff if you're up for the read.

Good luck on getting all the achievements, I'm sure that is hell of a task.

Thanks! I’ll give that a read!! And yes 100%ing the game was a TASK. Just finished it last night!
I hope I'm not bothering by jumping onto this thread out of nowhere, but I was wondering if any of you knew the full list of changes between the original and this? I'm talking about story related changes, by the way! I'm asking here considering this post is about the original vs this one.
I don't own a PS4 so I could never play it, but I watched all sorts of longplays. But it also means I'm really used to the original and I would prefer to avoid too many changes.

Also, does it include the content that was exclusive to the preorder in the past?

PS: I don't mind spoilers!

Most of the differences between the PS4 original and the remake are not related to the story such as the updated visuals and the new camera and its controls.

Ballistic Moon stayed very true to the original plot in a lot of ways, in fact many of the cutscenes and cinematics play out much the same like the cable car scene between Chris and Sam.

The story related changes are pretty few and minor, but here they are:
  • Revamped prolonge - They added more context to the prank played on Hannah for more emotional impact and to expand upon the event which started it all.
  • New dialogue & interactions - There are new interactions between characters with additional dialogue to give more context to the character relationships and the lore behind the Blackwood Mountain lodge. These changes do not affect the major plot points of the broader overarcing story.
  • New Endings - There's the new ending for saving Josh from becoming a Wendigo, there's the new post credits scene with Dr. Hill setting it up for a sequel, and finally there's the new post credits scene with Sam surviving yet ultimately going crazy and suffering from PTSD with her last moment being a hallucination.
